Green Day returns to Oz with Jimmy Eat World and My Chemical Romance:

Sydney 14th Dec SCG
Melbourne 17th Dec Telstra Dome

tickets are only $90.10 so value for money, considering tix to see Garbage were $89.

this also puts to rest those rumours that green day were headlining bdo 06

Yep, i noticed Ticketek had the Sydney show details up already, pre-sale date was September 22.
No sign of the Melbourne show on Ticketmaster7 as yet though.

I heard $91 for mosh tickets, $85 for the rest. Happy with that.

I'm a little disappointed with the support acts. Jimmy was always going to be on the tour and they're a solid band, but i can't stand MCR.

Is there, or will there be one? I was stoked when i heard jimmy eat world was comming, and shattered when i found i would have to pay 80 big ones to see them.

Jimmy Eat World would be great to see but I'm not going if overrated Greenday are involved. Oh, and My Chemical Romance - dont start me on them.

hasn't been announced yet... however it'd be highly unlikely they'd come all the way out here to play two 35 minute sets and go home again...

I'm not here to rag on Green Day. If you dig em, good for you. I'm not a fan, at all, but respect the fact they've lasted as long as they have and with the same line-up, regardless of how talented that line up may or may not be.

But one thing that blew my mind is that they are playing TELSTRA DOME?!?! WTF?!?! Thats BIG! Are these guys really that popular now?

Geez i am so blissfully ignorant when it comes to what he kids of today are into. Until about a week ago i'd never heard of the opening act on this bill. Kinda wish it'd stayed that way too. What is that singer so freakin upset about? Or is that what we call "emo" these days? You can keep it.

But hey, i turn 30 in a coupla weeks and can remember when Green Day were a new band. Who would have thought that shuffling between those 3 chords would have brought them to a day when they'd headline a place like Telstra Dome in their own show?

Anyway, carry on.

I'm not that big a fan truth be told, buy my girlfriend is, hence why I'm going

And yes, Greenday are massive right now because they are 'attacking' America and all the little wannabes think that's cool :thumbsu:

you're right, the telstra dome is big, but it will be full of 13 year old girls screaming "marry me billy-joe"... i considered going mainly cos i wanna see Jimmy Eat World, however i'll just count on them doing a side show... from what i've heard green day go alright live, and i don't mind some of their older stuff... they're the positives... the negatives are that it's 90 bucks, it's at the telstra dome, and all the 13 year old girls would really test my nerves..

Yeah, Green Day has seen a new bunch of fans jump on after they went below the radar a bit on Nimrod and Warning... probably because Billie Joe has gone the way of the mascara-wearing emo, but yeah, I still like em.

The whole eyeliner tryhard gimmick is so very sad and unoriginal.

I still enjoy the music, but crave for the days when Billie Joe looked like this:

Great band those green day boys, not a fan of the blocked nose delivery tho. Have MCR got any solo shows planned coz it'd be great to see them without having to pay that much.
