For the sake of the sanity of millions of educated people, I hope you are not serious.

I can't believe nobody else has discovered this! You have just made me a very rich man, as I shall now market it to the masses as a miracle cure for all that ails you. Thank you sir!

Green Tea is actually very good for you. Has been proven to help speed up your metabolism, which is obviously beneficial if you're trying to lose weight and is full of antioxidants.

I don't drink Lipton though, I buy the loose leaf stuff and brew it myself.

If you're talking about the bottled iced tea varieties, they're generally packed full of sugar (like Coke amounts of sugar). Even the diet ones are full of artificial sweetners, which can spike your blood sugar levels and make you feel hungry. What you can do, if you're keen to try it out, is brew a big batch of your own, chill it and chop up tiny bits of mandarin or orange and freeze them and chuck them in when you drink it. Makes a good change if you get sick of guzzling down endless amounts of water.

Which brand are you using?, I just use a brand that's in tea bag form which is made by oxfam who are a company that help out poor people.

I live near a T-Bar store, so I just head in there whenever I need some more.

They also sell their stuff online - http://tbar.com.au/new/

Personally I think the benefits are overplayed somewhat, but if you find it a little bitter just add some honey. I don't often drink caffinated drinks but that's my hot drink of choice (ignoring mulled wine & hot toddies ;))

Green tea is extremely healthy no doubt and is loaded with anti-oxidants. But the loose leaf variety is the way to go you can buy it on ebay fairly cheaply. Gyokuro is a premium brand and very high in theanine the stuff that relaxes you.

There's also white tea which is even healthier according to some which is what I've started drinking. Just bought some more off ebay - white peony $10 for 100 grams.

Perhaps it helps speed up the metabolism because of the caffeine?

If you'going to take the Caffeine approach, you may aswell use Coffee, or just jump right onto the pills?

Thanks for the ebay advice BB, I didn't think of that.

Green tea helps in burn fat and boosts metabolism. The recent study reported that 3 – 5 cups of green tea per day can help you burn more than 70 calories per day, which amounts to 7 pounds per year.
