2, he was initially drafted to saints when Ross was around, yes I no he didn't play him much but they could be on great terms
3, Broughton reported to be getting interest from saints

Just a little thinking, open your mind an think what of it as you wish

Personally, i would love to have Cripps,(the more pace in the side the better, I say) but St Kilda would need to give more than that to get Broughton.

you would have to think saints have the means,and a connection, now its just the will.

i know sfa about broughton and wouldnt want port paying a big price for a 26yr old. if one of our 2nd rounders was enough i would be pretty stoked but as it seems even if lyon does think frak all of him then another team could easily outbid that pick 30 if they want him, which seems likely from some of the hype. i wouldnt want port to go any further for that for a 26yr old where we are currently at. from talk of broughton he sounds super similar to our paul stewert, who being a port player none of you probably dont know/rate.

I may be a little biased but its fair to say Broughton is a significantly better player than Stewart.

Broughton is a good solid player, Stewart is an occasional match-winner. Broughton does have consistency over Stewart though.

fair dinkum. broughton is a not a KPP and he is not an in and under midfielder. if he goes for anything under 20 i would be very very very surprised.

I think it has got to the point that so many clubs have 'overpaid' according to Bigfooty experts that in fact the draft is view as much weaker by the clubs than Bigfooty experts and its not just dumb clubs trading good picks for the sake of it.

On topic, I think Broughton is worth 13-20. He is a very good player, although tad unusual that he is unwanted while under contract while at a club in the window.

I don't think he or his manager saw this coming. Both have been overseas with Broughton getting back on Sunday but there has definitely been some kind of talks. There is a quote from his manager (in todays hardcopy paper, I can't find it online so you just have to trust me ) questioning that if there isn't a spot for Greg then he'd be silly to not look around.

I posted this on the Freo board but IF Broughton was to be traded I'd like Broughton + pick 17 to the Saints, pick 13 + pick 25 to Freo.

I assume Saints would want to keep their pick 13. Most clubs would keep a pick that close to (or in) the top 10 unless it was for a big-time recruit
