LOL at Broughton being better than Brad Ebert. Didn't see Broughton getting into any top 50 lists for the year. Watch more football.

Umm ... the world in which he occasionally wins us matches? Did it twice this year. We wouldn't have beaten North Melbourne or the Demons without Stewart.

LOL all you like. Broughton is so much better than Ebert it is ridiculous.

Clearly you haven't seen Ebert play since he left West Coast.

Ebert is ahead of Broughton in pretty much everything. He's even somehow ahead of him for rebound 50's.

And there's Brad Ebert being named in the best 50 players in the AFL this year (43rd), something which Greg Broughton has never and will never achieve. And this is all putting aside the fact that Ebert is 3 and a half years younger.

Against North Stewart had 5 touches...?

As the sub. He also kicked the winning goal with 40 seconds left on the clock.

Match-winner Jason Davenport kicked 4 against us in a last quarter to win a game and was delisted a year later. I'm not a Stewart basher but his performance against North isn't worth gushing over. His game against the Dees (15 touches, 5 goals - a game which I did not see FWIW) sounds impressive though, that's the sort of game I'd expect from Gray who is a quality player.

I'm conflicted. On the plus side, it's nice to see that someone does indeed want to come to Port. On the down side, it's Brad Ebert.

Oh well. He's pretty average but he was a better player at West Coast than Jay Schulz ever was at Richmond, and looked what happened here. My hopes aren't particularly high but I'll give him a chance. At least we'll be getting at least one actual midfielder.

It's good to see that Port fans have changed their opinion of Ebert since last year.

I think the Saints should be able to secure Broughton's services with either Cripps or one our picks in the mid 20s.

Lots of talk on Perth media now about GCS and a medical being done, trade agreed to pending medical.

Will be announced tomorrow?

Freo really after a shot at a KPF I would think.

Yep, I heard on the radio today that the deal is just being finalized and the official paperwork will be lodged tomorrow. This one is a bit surprising.

Freo will let him go cheap.
His freewheeling defender style doesn't fit Lyons defensive mindset.

Do you watch a lot of Dockers games? Broughton is a bit more in and under than you may think. Averaged 5 tackles last year compared to an actual free wheeling defender such as Beau Waters' 2 tackles per game. He has been known to play some pretty defensive roles in the past and goes in and gets the footy rather than just drifting around on his own.

Dont know why the Dockers are considering a trade for Broughton when a player like Roberton havent been traded yet. I'd prefer Broughton any day over him. Same with Suban. Prefer Broughton for sure

Watched them all this year.
He looked lost to me under Lyons new game plan.
At first I thought he may have been carrying an injury but later realized that his days might be numbered if he couldn't reinvent himself.
The possibility of him being moved on has been going on for weeks.

Yeah, it's weird. I remember in the NAB Cup he was playing midfield and looked really comfortable there. As soon as the season proper got under way, Lyon moved him into almost a defensive forward roll. In reality, it could be a number of reasons why he has fallen out of favour with Lyon, not just on field performance. I just didn't see it coming I guess.
