New developments = meeting with Hird.
Don't close thread.
I don't understand how we could sign him up when our list lodgement is complete. Even if we could, it's obvious his heart isn't set on an AFL career. We are the back-up plan.
He's clearly more adept at AFL than Folau and Hunt, but it would only work if he was 100% committed to making it work. I'm far from convinced he is. I've been keen to sign up Greg in the past, but his recent behaviour has led me to cooling on the idea rapidly.
Folau won't last longer than his initial contract because his heart is in league, whilst Hunt, while the least talented of the three, will be a success because he's the most professional of the lot and will do anything to have a successful AFL career.
Clubs have the capacity to attract elite athletes from other sports under the ‘Alternative Talent’ Rule. The player may not have been registered or played in an Australian Football competition for at least three years, and have played in a recognised elite sporting competition. Clubs may offer one spot under this rule. Player payments are outside the salary cap if he does not play senior football, with a pro-rata payment inside the cap for any senior matches. A player may remain on the ‘Alternative Talent’ list for three years, before being placed on the Primary List.
Take a punt.
Put him at full forward, he is strong as an ox, has great hands and can roost a ball (as evident in the video)
Nothing to lose.

Negatives
- He's a dick head who unlike dick heads like Lovett hasn't even shown he's good at Aussie Rules.
What has Inglis done off the field compared to Lovett? Lets be honest here. He has changed clubs (pretty common in Rugby League as the money is not great). Lovett has alcohol issues off the field, and has a trial for assault. Greg has barely been in trouble off the field.
Apart from the whole girlfriend bashing thing.
and not signing with a club after he promised he would. Seriously you guys spend all this time talking about Knights and his pay-out, and now you wanna waste hundreds of thousands of dollars on a guy who would only be doing it for the money?
also he doesn't play midfield
