Re: Essendon meets with Greg Inglis

If it was a choice between Inglis or Neagle I would pick Inglis. He would bring in so much interest to the club which would be worth it.

What interest?

You dont think Essendon members and fans arent already engaged by James Hird back at the club?

Rather give a father-son a chance than a mercenary like Inglis who is only in it for the money.

Can't understand the hype about ex-NRL guys switching codes.... lets see how the Hunt and Folau experiment works before we decide to chase after some.

I would prefer Neagle given another chance over Inglis as well.

As long as the AFL institutes the grand final Pie eating contest, I'm happy to get Inglis.

Note: We would clearly have the best Pie eating tandem in the league along with Neagle =P

...and right back where we left off:
Obviously everyone has a genetic threshold, so to speak.

But it's fair to say that having not completed a single pre-season, Neagle's not even close to reaching the ceiling.

That threshold's not always physical.

I'd have a look if we could get him for sub-200k on the cap.
Full stop.

Inglis is not serious about AFL footy, its all 'Show me the money'

People get fooled into thinking becuase he can run with the ball tucked under his arm in another game he can play Australian football.

..... what happens when he has to bounce the ball?

Wont have the game knowledge, where to find the ball, where to run, 360 degree game.

We dont need a project player for marketing purposes.

Re: Greg Inglis going to Essendon.

I don't understand how we could sign him up when our list lodgement is complete. Even if we could, it's obvious his heart isn't set on an AFL career. We are the back-up plan.

He's clearly more adept at AFL than Folau and Hunt, but it would only work if he was 100% committed to making it work. I'm far from convinced he is. I've been keen to sign up Greg in the past, but his recent behaviour has led me to cooling on the idea rapidly.

Folau won't last longer than his initial contract because his heart is in league, whilst Hunt, while the least talented of the three, will be a success because he's the most professional of the lot and will do anything to have a successful AFL career.
