Greg Miller "on the couch" interview

Let's not overstate Miller's achievements. From 2002-2004, we were going nowhere. Signed Frawley to an extension, backed Casey and the drafting and list building was the same old shit as it had been before he arrived.

Most of the credit for rebuilding the playing list has to go to Wallace. Financially, it goes to Wright. Miller served his purpose well enough, but it's past time that he was replaced.

Really, I don't give a stuff about this news. Still buzzed from the win on Saturday and I honestly don't think this is a big deal. The media will enjoy having a go at us for a while (what's new?) but we're still in the race for the finals and the Miller situation isn't going to have any effect on that.

We still have to find a replacement.
Who will want to come to us after we've resorted to our old idiotic ways?
We could have done this a lot more professionally at the end of the season.
We were starting to get some credibility about the place that we honoured contracts and treated people a bit better
But no, we do it again.
Whether he's good enough or not ain't the issue IMO.

I agree that the timing was poor. They were clearly looking and if we're going to be replacing Miller at season's end, noting that Melbourne and GC17 and West Sydney are in the market, it might be a necessary evil....

lets not revisit the Northey saga, for me he will always remain nothing but a %@# that saw the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...Case CLOSED..damned lucky to have his pic in the centenary book
I cannot f..kin believe your attitude towards Northey still prevails ...

Get your head out of your clacker pal ... was undermined by a buffoon and you know it .

A million people would do what Northey did ... niave to say otherwise .

If one of your bosses said publically you were a dikc and you had to go ... the rest of your bosses refused to back you either way ... what would you do ?

So are you honestly trying to say that not keeping Northey was a good thing? Dear oh dear.

No not at all ... don`t think you read the post properly ...

Merely defending his right to leave when Mal Brown made his position untennible

did not offer an opinion either way as to whether i thought it was a good thing for the club or not ..

Reserve your sarcasm for when you have a clear mandate or you look silly

there's two sides to the story pal...I go with the one that Northey was being swooned by the Lions, even stayed there an extra day after we played...They offered him a fair deal...went to the Tiges and asked for an extension at the mid point of the year...we said No and it was all over...Never mind he still had a contract that ran another year with us...He's a #$@%...why didnt he serve out his contract...He was a dikwad in any case and proved as much at Brisbane as it all caved in on him...aka will tell ya

LMAOOO @ dikwad

all this whilst Brown was bellowing ...."GEEET RIIIID OFFFFF HIM HE`S NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDD"

Go on then - who will pick up Miller? About to be the next Manager of the Australian Cricket Team or be headhunted by West Coast d'you reckon? Hammerheads Mk II?

u tell me monkey boy ?

It's your dream.

Fact is u just don't have the ability to debate.

Has it proven a hurdle in your every day life or do u merely negate the situation with an outpoor of self ignorance ?

Since when does one judge ones past doings by assessing something that hasn't happened ?

Again,what is ur point ?

that Greg did absolutely nothing for our club in his tenure as Jack of all trades, wage of one and therefore would be worthless in the workplace in any other situation ......?

and your "glad" he's gone because you're the Mosciach of the RFC and with you comes a sense of true knowledge and a secure future

or are u that pickled scumbag, Tony Free ?

Simply put your heads to far up ur ars to see the big picture......of anything.

mate I liked Northey as a coach and what he did in a nanosecond at tigerland just lost all respect when he decided to sit down and talk with the enemy with 18mths remaining on his contract, the rest is history

... and if Mal Brown wasn`t being his shockingly de-stabilising best on the board i`m sure it would not have gone down that way

Chicken or the egg ?

No there's only one story.

Mal Brown was talking to Sheedy on behalf of Daphne, and Sheedy made it public. I guess you havent read a newspaper since the Truth went out of business.

Northey asked for a contract extension, club refused, he left.

And why didnt the club hold him to another year of his contract?

Did you got to any games in 95?

The point being, that the only people that respect Greg Miller are richmond supporters coming off the back of a good win.

Wont get a job anywhere because no-one anywhere thinks much of him.

What's this all about? What did Free ever do wrong? Met him a few times and seems like a good bloke. Why are you supporting Kangaroo Miller over a past captain of our club?

1- Stupid outlook re supporting Kangaroo Miller over a past captain of our club?

eg - Tiger Malthouse isn't a Magpie:rolleyes:

Others have met him(free) and seen the W.C.Fields side but i think the biggest and most astute concern is his credentials as a board member.

Need u be reminded of his success rate as a player.captain - very Frawleyesque.

Maybe he was hired to be a scapegoat but i doubt it.

The only Richmond people who would make a real difference are dead or senile from coaching the bum me offs for 27 years.

I'm open to hearing what Free can bring the club apart from pipe dreams based on the reputation of being a former captain who's career was cut short due to injury.

There was no mention on the 'Couch' of the 'hissy fit' and the fact that the club couldn't contact him to formally clip him......hmmmmm.
GM comes out smelling of roses. We look the bad guys. Don't bother RFC, move on from this guy.

Didn't Miller say (correct me if I'm wrong) on the show that Wallace shouldn't start 2009 unless he gets an extension on his contract..... And there lies the problem. Who does GM think he is?

Too big for his boots......Just an administrative staff member who holds North Melbourne Shares. Gone. Bye.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out!

so he has to go on the dole ?
