Managed $40 profit with those suggested bets at that staking level.

But that doesn't mean much. We should be able to understanding why we are staking those amounts and why we are selecting those bet types.

And overtime determine what are profitable situations. And whether we can follow these bet types to the exact dollar and not be persuaded to bet otherwise because we don't trust the system.

Did not actually realise it was 390m..still would of had her on top but yeah....makes a slight difference over the sprint...

Bees Wax looks a good thing.....Sandy on Target and Magic City next best 2 even tho Magic City has not finished closer than 4th in its last dozen runs or so..o

The 197-TRIFECTA means that this race is strongly rated. Which basically relates to how clear cut I see the race.

Trifecta is the suggested bet type.

If your using a lot of maths in your ratings Womble. Or whatever you are drawing a conclusion for. Take special consideration into the radius' of turns at the different tracks and take note of the different racing patterns different dogs have when comparing raduis'.

If we look at the 2009 stats across all distances at Cranbourne:

Percentage of favourites that win:
No. of favourites that win - 36.34%
No. of 2nd favourites that win - 20.56%
No. of 3rd favourites that win - 16.48%
No. with longest odds that win - 2.65%
Position of winners at first section:

Winners leading at first section - 51.15%
Winners 2nd at first section - 22.02%
Winners 3rd at first section - 11.54%
Winners 4th or worse at first section - 15.29%

If your looking at split times 5.52 is roughly the average winning split for 520m and around 9.75 for 311m.

In the maiden races it is important to draw 1,2,7,8 boxes. They have a clear advantage at this class at Cranbourne.


Remember that greyhounds have a huge swing in performance in their first 6-12 starts. So I wouldn't want to be following the crowd and smashing 'good things' because what the public see is 30.50 Cranbourne debut win by 6 lengths, and they all get on, as that is all that they see.

Also take some considation into the difference in age for the greyhounds in a particular race. For instance Race 8....#1 Exhileration is Feb-05. Compared to... Dec06/Aug07/Sep06/Oct06/Feb08/Mar06. Is clearly the oldest runner in the field. And when they get to that age they start to wind down. Be weary of betting on these runners.

Interesting choice by trainer and he obviously knows the dog better than anyone else but I am under the impression it wont get 545 strong? With that being said, it is dropping significantly in class verse the likes of Bosca Wabbit etc who it has been racing against and when shorter course dogs step up in distance they can normally ping and put a gap on their opponents who are usually slower out but stronger at the end. If this happens, he is a chance of leading all the way. Will be an interesting test for it today. I am looking forward to the race.

Has been looking for the extra distance, after a couple of unlucky runs. The Meadows was a very quick race and then he found some trouble the start after.

Today he looked ready to get the win and jumped straight to the front, opened up a nice 3 length lead midway through and then just kept on going. 500-600 will be In There's ideal distance. We just haven't seen the best of him yet. He carried a wrist injury for atleast 4 or 5 starts and is only now getting fitter.

Congrats!! He ran a very solid 31.39. Thats a strong 550m run!! All his sprint racing helped with him being able to bounce to the front early. Well done and gl with future races!!

Yeah was a good time especially considering the track looked pretty slippery! Lets hope this is the start of a gun run for In There. He certainly deserves it!
