She is not a frail 23-24kg 20 month old pup.

She has the best finishing burst of any greyhound racing in the country.

If she does not make it as a stayer, a multi group 1 winning stayer, barring injury, I will give up punting on greyhounds, because I clearly do not know what I am talking about.

Her size has nothing to do with whether or not she will be a good stayer. She may well be a good stayer but you dont just give up on the sprints this early in a career. Sprinting is where the money is

If you think a 29kg bitch is not better built to stay compared to a 24-25kg bitch, then you do not know greyhounds.

She is powerfully built.

Her grandam was a stayer.

Her half brother is Blue Lorian.

Yeah i can guarantee i have worked with more greys than you have, not even sure you have worked with them at all and i will guarantee you right now bigger dogs are not automatically better stayers! Its no more advantage in staying races than it is in sprints and i dont know how you could come up with that conclusion. Even in athletics the big powerful runners are sprinters and the little skinny guys do the distance races. What are you basing this statement on?

The only thing i know about greyhound weights is that larger dogs can take corners better, i think thats what someone told me once

In humans, long distance are skinny runts, sprinters are powerfully built, learnt that in sports science, although it probably has no relevance on greyhounds so im not backing anyones arguement here.

Not sure what you are arguing Vince, if you are saying that a dog/bitch is better equipped to stay just because its a big dog then i don't agree. The size of a dog doesn't effect its staying ability. If you are saying that a 30kg bitch is more likely to be a better stayer than a 23-24kg bitch then maybe yes on averages that would probably work out but i suggest it would be the same over a distance of 520m. You would just naturally prefer the bigger dog at any distance range. El Grand Senor is massive but that alone doesn't mean he should be a better stayer than a 34kg dog.
You get roughed up more in the sprints than you do a long distance race too.

My original comment was about the pros for Miata continuing on to become a star stayer.

Being a 29kg bitch can only help her, as she is very powerfully built and that can only help her over a distance.

The discussion took off when some idiot said 'her weight has nothing to do with whether she can stay or not'

Bitches have naturally less strength than dogs as a rule. Being powerfully built certainly helps when they need to cover extra ground, and do it well. It is not an exact science of course, but results show you are much better positioned as a bitch with that extra strength.

Those stats are not exclusive to distance racing though, you would get similar results for dogs running over the sprints

Of course the spread is much closer over sprints, there is no dominance by bigger bitches though.
