After a fairly resounding failure @ The Meadows on Saturday night, I am going to experiment the Box 1,2,7,8 trifecta on every TAB Greyhound meeting for a week starting tonight. I am not going to bet on all of the races, just get a gauge as to what the strikerates are given that the 2 inside/outside boxes have some small advantage at some tracks. Takes the form analysis and guesswork out of it, but if the system works, it maybe one to follow.

To make calculating the returns quicker and easier I will use full unit trifectas ($24).

If there is a scratching from one or two of the boxes, I will replace that with the sub (eg. Dog 9 out of Box 7). If all 4 boxes are not in operation for any race, I will not use the system.

Ive never really bet on the dogs much before but id like to get into it a bit more now that i have an interest in it. Im looking forward to thursday melb cup heats. Hopefully my boy will be in one of those races next year!.
My first decent bet was saturday on the Quad and i took the fav one out in the first leg and it got knocked over, so that wasnt the best start!.

I part own one racing tonight in race 5 at crannie. Hot Eire is his name, he is a talented young dog just hasn't had any luck lately but if given a clear run tonight is a huge chance.

Also Part own Innunedo with a few guys off this site. He is commencing his comeback from injury Thursday night at Ballarat.

don't know if this helps sniper but in the online form (watchdog www.grv.org.au) form guide for the dogs. There is a section of the rocket scientist form which shows each dog and their respective box positions and where they have been placed in their career.

Addington has been run and won, only 7 races, but not one trifecta.

I just recently bought shares in 2 pups. A big daddy cool x Mississippi Heat dog and a pure octane x larrappin babe b!tch. Have wanted to buy a share in 1 for awhile and only just got the guts to do it. Here's hoping they turn out ok.

I'm also looking forward to the Melbourne cup. I have been to the last 2 and it's been a good night. Last year I got drawn out of a barrell to go out on the track and pull a name out of the barrell and got a free $1000 bet on whichever one I pulled out. I forget it's name but it was paying about $12. Just missed a place and was never really a threat to win it. Most nervous I've ever been before a race. Never had that much riding on a bet before.


Edit: Its name was Bye Bye Bones which was actually a reserve but got a start.

I'm on Albion Park but have a stupid thing where every time I post winners they never win.

I'm still somewhat of a greyhound novice, can anyone explain to me what these abbreviations mean in the form?

NvNP
NvGr5 - I assume this means a novice grade 5? But what makes a "novice" dog? Is it age, amount of starts, amount of wins?
Mixed (but with no numbers after - obviously Mixed 3/4 means Grade 3 & 4 in the same race but what about when there's no numbers?)
S/E
FrAll - Free for all? What does that mean?

Any assistance would be terrific!
