Just some general breeding enquires.

Whether broodbitches need to race, what do you look for in a potential broodbitch, etc.

Broodbitches only need to race to help sell the pups, there's no other reason. If a brood does well on the track you can command better prices for the pups.

As for what to look for in a potential broodbitch opinions vary. We picked up a litter sister to Group One winner Hades Rocket as a companion for my other broodbitch. Her name was Sound Lee and she was unraced due to an accident before racing but in trials and when breaking in was faster than her brother. From her only litter she produced Pure Inspiration (track record Ballarat and some other fast wins), Nitrane (30.33 Cranbourne and 29.89 Sandown in her first few starts) and other winners that have just turned 2 years old. There are also a couple that are yet to race that should also be handy.

So IMO there's ability and bloodlines and when you can get the best of both the odds are in your favour. As for temperament Sound Lee is probably the best natured bitch I've seen.

One other thing you need is luck.

PS. I just heard that another from the litter won at Sale at it's first start tonight.

Find that Robbo's Inc Race 2 The Gardens is representing value. Can run the time, and not many of these win. Should go well at this track and distance.

Don't forget this May 5th, 6th, 7th that Warnambool are commission free on the quaddies. 0% Commission for the carnival.

Worth a punt.

Well long time between posts on here.

But been busy.

Sale Race 1

#6 BIG MICK BURCOV should ping to the lead and prove hard to catch based on his debut run.

Being a maiden race we have to look out for the debut starters, but also those who have raced at city class. And that is #1 DON JOHN. Is a definate contender in this race. Include in exotics.

It is a long trip from Croydon to Sale. So either nomination troubles, or trainer fancies the chances of #7 TIANI BLIND at Sale.

Also, well backed on debut #5 Mr. Whisper was slow out, but came home quite well, despite trouble.

#6-1-7-5

Win #6 1st $2.70

Quinella 1,5,6,7 6-1 $4.50

Beware of the debut runners #2,3 they are litter-mates. So will be interesting to see how they run together in a full field.

Sale Race 2

#7 MARIAGH is in a good camp and has run quite well to date. First split times have been respectable for this field at Sale. Pure Octane hasn't gone that well at stud for the dogs he has produced, but you get that.
Big benefit here, is that #6 likes the rails, so might punch a hole for MARIAGH to go through by the bend.

Hard to beat.

#3 YELLA WATERS ran a solid race at Warragul on debut, but hasn't really fired since then. Gets a good chance today from this draw, and Warragul dogs tend to suit Sale. But also because of travel reasons.

Hard to make a case for the other runners here, so will go for the debutants, despite the breeding not being overly strong.

#7-3-1-4 1-7-3-4 $415 F4...

Quinella #1,3,4,7 $4.30
Quinella #3,7 X

Sale Race 3

Mainly like the inside draws here. But also, be careful of dogs resuming from a fall. I have noticed in the past that quite a few of them rebound with a solid result. So consideration has been given to #6 SPOT CASH on that basis.

#1 BEASTIE BOY has broken 25 seconds over this trip, is drawn perfectly, loves the trip and should be the one to beat. Except $2 now that #2 has been scratched from the race.

#4 SPANISH JACKIE has plenty of race experience over these, and her recent form is decent, well decent enough to figure in the results here, and if begins on terms, her 513m time at Traralgon from a satisfactory trial should come in handy here.

#9 SLADE CHASER is the smokey for this race and will start from box two. Could possibly get the perfect run off the heels of #1, while the rest clutter up on the bend.

There are mainly slow starters out-wide, so am going to ignore them, due to the prediction of trouble in the race.

#1-4-9-3

Quinella #1,3,4,9
EW #9
Win #1

Hey Oaks.
I am thinking of putting a quaddie on tonight at Warnambool (no commission makes it tempting) and are interested in your thoughts?
