***FULL CARD PREVIEW***
Bendigo

Race 1 Maiden 430m

#1 SHE'S DISTURBED Raced at a NON-TAB event last start at Warrnambool where she finished 3rd in one of the quickest races of the day (winner went 22.40...which is faster than the average maiden winning time). She ran 22.78 from box 4 with no early speed. Her second last start at Geelong over 347 didn't really give any indication of her potential as she was quite slow out of the boxes, cramped for room on the rail, then checked off the heels around the bend to finish last. You can forgive that run. Her 24.79 Qualy time over this trip on 10th July is a small indication that she is a definately place hope.
Overall: Not going to win. But can include in exotics.

#2 SILENT TEARS Also raced at the NON-TAB event at Warrnambool last start and ran a time of 22.80 (winner went 22.58). There were no excuses in the run. But it was her debut, so improvement is sure to come. Has a better box today which will help, especially since she was on the bunny last start. Breeding wise is a half-sister to MONEY CRISIS who won on debut at NON-TAB short event. So must have a bit of early speed in the lines which is what you want for these shorter maiden races.
Overall: Should cross from rails. May weaken in the run though.

#3 DYNA HALLIE Is a litter sister to BigFooty's and other connections Black Sabre. Owned by the Wheeler's and trained by Dailly is always a good combination. Looking at the form-guide you would have to say stands no solid chance, with two races and two lasts added in with a slow qualy win over this trip in 24.89. But if you have seen her race, that isn't an indication of her potential. Last start, was severly baulked and checked over numerous stages of the race, probably the most important stages of the race too. Weakened in the run after copping checks left right and centre. Did seem a bit inexperienced in race craft, but you improve every time. Gets Box 3 today, and to be honest. Is in with a shot with a clear run. Is probably one of those dogs who only performs in perfect situations. Might get that today.
Overall: The roughy with a chance of causing an upset

#4 JASPER DRAGON Faced a handy type on debut at Healesville in Jean Jeannie back in May and since then hasn't been able to show true form due to the amount of trouble he finds himself in. But has managed to get into the placings, albiet finishing over 10l behind the leader on each occassion. I get the feeling that the extra 50m at Bendigo is going to suit, but might need longer again. 3/5 placings is definately not a stat that you should be looking at, given the cirumstances of the placings.
Overall: Extra distance will suit.

#5 COCO HELLO DOLLY Doesn't warrant any interest to me, as she tends to get too far back in her races and doesn't really improve from there. All of her qualy times have been slow and even her races times have been too. Definately needs to be close to them today to have any chance, as once she gets too far back from the bunny its game over. Improved at Shep 18th July NON-TAB over the 650m trip and that is probably where she will do her best.
Overall: Not for me.

#6 MANIA ENFORCED Has been in the leading division in all of her starts which is an excellent sign. Ran a solid placing at Geelong last start over 347 in 20.39 behind Baby Geisha (20.27) on a day where the best only went 19.91. So that is a good indication that the time was solid. The only downside is that she seems to weaken in the run. Will probably start favourite and gets every chance out in front which is what you want.
Overall: Likely leader and likely winner. One to beat.

#7 WHO'S AL Litter mates Pure Impact and Where's Leli have both shown early speed in their races to date. Which would lead you to the conclusion that Who's Al should also poses some early speed. Did run a slow, slow qualy over this trip, but was never out of trouble. Based on the breeding and the draw, might get a chance to avoid trouble and run into the placings. Especially since the 6 will more than likely lead. Giving him a nice hole to punch up in on the rail.
Overall: Place contender

#8 LYN'S GEMMA Didn't disappoint on her debut run over this trip last week behind a handy type. Began ok, but got crowded for room early and was pushed off the rails. Didn't lose too much ground to the winner in the latter stages of the race which is ok. Has won a qualy over this trip in 24.69, which may be enough to win this race. Although under race conditions, its different to a qualy. Outwide today, but may struggle to charge through the field as won't lead here.
Overall: Will struggle from this draw

Selections: 6 - 3 - 2 - 7

There's isn't much between a few here for the placings, so exotics should pay alright, well depending on the pool size also. But I think we have definately found the winner in those 4 and the quinella. I would be willing to include #1,4 for any wide exotics.

For example:

1,2,3,4,7/6 Exacta
6/1,2,3,4,7 Exacta

Cost of $10

Or for $40 have three trifecta's

6/1,2,3,4,7/1,2,3,4,7 $1
1,2,3,4,7/6/1,2,3,4,7 50c
1,2,3,4,7/1,2,3,4,7/6 50c

But that is for going wide. Other than that, stick to boxing exotics for the top 4 selections. And here's hoping for the best.

MARKET:
#6 $3.2
#3 $5.5
#2 $7.5
#7 $7.5
#4 $8.5
#1 $12
#8 $34
#5 $66

Race 2 Maiden 340m
#1 LSCR

#2 JEFF Was placed behind Allen Shaul at a Bendigo qualy last start in a strong time for maiden class. Jeff ran 24.64 (winner went 24.39). Previous to that Jeff failed to finish on debut, and then followed up with a run at Horsham where he encountered a fair amount of trouble when backed at $2.60. Has a vacant box on his inside and that will give him a clear run to the bend. Dam has produced some speedy types. Half-brother Feel The Burn won at Dapto recently, nearly breaking 30. With the vacant box and a decent qualy run, Jeff is right in this.
Overall: Definately a factor in this race.

#3 PEGASUS Has placed 5/6 races including a handy 22.78 run at Shep two starts ago (BOD was 22.51). Tends to begin with them and this time out will only have one runner to cross. If leads, will take some catching as I think this race is definately suitable. One of the problems though, is that you can find many dogs who continually place without winning. Haven't seen Pegasus race that many times, so unsure if he is a CAT.
Overall: Will fill placings, but break-through win? Unsure.

#9 (Box 4) LAUREN'S ANGEL Is unlikely to challenge these today. Lacks the early speed and needs a lot of luck. Last start was beaten by Bull Bar Barb at Shep in June. Ran a time of 22.90 after finding herself in trouble. But previous to that, was just weak in the running at Warragul. I would rather wait to see her do something before I consider her chances.
Overall: No thanks.

#5 BOWSTREET HUNTER Debut run was at NON-TAB Warrnambool meeting when third. Winner won well, but Bowstreet Hunter was 13l behind. So don't take any consideration when looking at the time. As some dogs just don't chase that hard when they are so far behind. Went 25.93 in a Ballarat qually run, BOD time was 25.51. Which is ok. Dam did her best racing over longer trips though.
Overall: Hard to make a case for.

#6 PEDRA BRANCA I think there are a couple from BigFooty who are owners of this dog. It's Bulldog Rob's Winningglory syndication greyhound. Obviously they would know a lot more than me about this greyhound, but was injured last start and given a stand-down of 14 days. Previous to that found trouble when 6th over this trip. Looked to be coming into the race, but didn't get the opportunity. First recorded trip was a qualy run in 24.65 over this trip, not that far behind BOD in 24.38. This race is definately suitable.
Overall: One of the leading chances, given a full recovery from injury.

#7 SINDY ALLEN Must have some potential with Wheeler/Dailly combination. Qually run over this trip was quite disappointing. But there must of been circumstances that explain the time. Breeding is unknown to me, so can't make a comment on that. Practically I am blind to this dog, but given the powerful combination of Wheeler/Dailly it must come into some sort of considation.
Overall: Blind betting on this one. Place chance.

#8 BALTIC GURAN Has been close in all four qually runs over this trip. Gets the perfect box today in this race to do his best in his debut run. Might lack the pure class, but is one of (or the first?) runner from the dam to hit the Victorian tracks. I can't have him for the win, but with the draw and the recent qualy placings, Baltic Guran is a definate place hope.
Overall: Place Only.

Quite a difficult race this one with a few place chances. The inside two are the ones to beat for me especially with the vacant box 1, and slow runners in 4,5. That should give them a clear look at the bend and trouble free.

Selections: 2-3-6-7

I think the exotics will be small this race, as the favourite Pegasus should lead and from there could win. Have given the on-top to Jeff, on the fact that will get first clear run and is open to a lot of improvement. #6 Pedro Branco could also lead this race.

Market:
#2 $3.50
#3 $3.80
#6 $5.50
#7 $8.00
#8 $12
#4 $26
#5 $33

Race 3 Maiden 430m
#1 PURE ARTEMIS Pinged the lids for the first time in her career last start at NON-TAB Warrnambool meeting from this box. Was run down in the final stages of the race. Ran a time of 22.70, but that was a time where nothing went wrong in the run. A PERFECT race. So needs another perfect race to come into the equation here. Has the box, but I'm not willing to bank on two perfect races in a row. Adding to that, this race is longer too.
Overall: May lead, but will weaken in finish.

#2 CRIMINAL LAW Has been well supported in his four career starts. And with good reason, as won a Ballarat qualy in 25.79 and a Bendigo qualy in 24.61. Both times not far off the BOD. Will need to begin better than previous starts today, but should get to the rail cleanly, that is if he wants the rail. As best performances come from outside boxes. Looks ready to fire this race though.
Overall: Ready to break maiden status.

#3 METROPOLIS Came up with the lids last start and started to close in on the pack, when checked on the rails. This completely stuffed his momentum. Still ran 20.48 at Geelong after this trouble. Previous to that, missed the kick again from box 8, but quickly surged around the field to be second by the bend. It is this speed shown after the initial jump that is important to his races. With that momentum he could be leading by the bend.
Overall: One to beat. Has great speed after initial jump.

#4 KING KONG JAI Did very little to impress last start from box 8 at Geelong. Definately needs to lead to have any hope, as otherwise just drifts through the pack with no real intention of passing anyone. Has fought before, so not willing to bet on a non-chaser.
Overall: Don't bet on Non-Chaser's.

#5 BOOMA BEV Should come out of the boxes quite alright, but this race isn'g short enough for her. Litter tends to fade away in the latter stages of the race after looking early chances. Times to date have been quite slow and was recently stood down for 28 days. Never a good sign for a youngster.
Overall: Doesn't warrant enough interest.

#6 ALLEN SIMONZ Injured last start when beaten by kennel-mate. Was with the leading pack on that occassion, copped a huge check and then improved again. But the injury got the better of him that run. Has won a qualy over this trip in 24.54. Likely to return to form as seems a chaser. Is one of many from the Wheeler/Dailly combination. That is a factor.
Overall: Ready to fire!

#7 SHALBURN LASS Doesn't seem to fair well under race conditions as gets crowded in the run. Has some OK qualy runs at several tracks. But they don't do enough to persuade me into making her a selection. There is speed around her and she is likely to be shuffled back to the rear again, and from ther won't catch these.
Overall: Going to get the short stick in the begging and get shuffled back.

#8 SOUTHWOOD FIFTY Won't have any issue with the distance and if he begins anywhere near them, might be the roughy with a chance of an upset. Does find a lot of trouble in his races, but has raced from box 8 before and ran 2nd. You have to include in top 3, as the box and the experience are going to be handy factors.
Overall: Contender. Not pretender.

This one is a more clear cut exotic race that the others. The market should be about spot on, and the top 3 fav in the market are likely quinella's.

Selections: 3-6-8-2

Market:

#3 $2.80
#6 $5.50
#8 $7
#2 $7.50
#1 $12
#7 $16
#4 $26
#5 $33

Race 4 Maiden 430m
#1 VOCAL ERUPTION Has done little to date to suggest that she can be a factor in this race. Litter-mates haven't been promising yet either. Does have the inside draw which is always nice to have in a maiden race. But I don't think this Elite State - Vocal bitch will come into the results today. Not based on recent form and litter-mates form.
Overall: Has the right draw, but not the right form.

#2 QUITE DASHING Is a three and a half year old bitch who is lightly raced after being used for breeding (?). Has run some smart times at Geelong shorts for maiden class after showing early speed. Faded last start and ran 20.63. Not 21.63 which some form-guides state. Wants the rails and should cross to the lead here, but might fade in the final stages.
Overall: Likely leader who may fade.

#3 FIGHTING FURY Debut run at Warrnambool NON-TAB was respectable as she ran 26.31. But was 11l behind the winner. Will get a nice start to the race as the 2 will ping. This should help her chances and allow her to finish off the race strongly. But that is pure assumption as she is still inexperienced, like most in this field.
Overall: Place chance.

#4 TIGER TWELVE Dam Flashy Puzzle has procued some handy types who all posses strong race craft skills. Has won a qualy over this trip, albiet it being a slow 24.91. Found a lot of trouble on debut at Shep, and should improve from that draw. Will be in the market again here based on breeding.
Overall: Not without a chance.

#5 RESTLESS REETA I think she needs the rails as you can excuse a few of her runs to date from the outside boxes. Did lead from box 7 at Shep at NON-TAB and ran a time of 22.70 over 390m. BOD was 22.50. So that is a good indication that she is in this race. If she can get clear racing room, I believe she will show a lot of improvement.
Overall: Take a gamble on her getting a clear run. Place.

#6 DYNA VITO Is returning to racing after a two month break. Has shown ability in his 6 starts to date. Is another Wheeler/Dailly combination. Has broken 26 at Geelong 457m so will be running on strongly. Probably too strongly for these. The 5 will go to the rail, giving him a clear run to the bend. Should beat these by a handsome margin.
Overall: Looking at a 5 length winner here.

#7 SMOKEN UP KEV Is litter-brother to Laurens Angle (R2 #9) and that littler has done little to date. Faces a tough task from this draw, as will find it hard to cross and get a clear run. Times to date have been slow and was found to be injured last start. Not willing to give the benefit of the doubt in remarkable return.
Overall: Ignore.

#8 CAPTAIN CUP CAKE On the name alone you are persuaded to place a bet! But on form alone, you are persuaded to steer clear of Captain Cup Cake, no matter how tempting his sweets may be.
Overall: Won't taste success

Selections: 6 - 2 - 5 - 4

Winner will be odds on. Maybe two's on. Maybe three's on. Whatever the price, it will be short. Can stand-out in exotics with 1,2,3,4,5 as this is an inside draw race.

Market:
#6 $2.40
#2 $6.50
#5 $8.50
#4 $10
#1 $14
#3 $14
#8 $24
#7 $33

Race 5 Mixed 4/5 545m
#1 CAMPASPE JACK Won a recent coursing event at Healesville, showing great early speed to get through the first heat. With his distance, form the final two races were easier. Given that she showed that early speed in the first course, I think CAMPASPE JACK can really put himself into a positive position in this race, given the speed from out-wide. He does finish off his races quite well, and his last two wins are no exception.
Overall: Suited here.

#2 PAULA NIKITA Is racing better than many give her credit for. Has the early speed to cross to the rails and really does tend to stay out of trouble. The problem will be, if those outwide come across and squash her against the rail. From there her race would be over. But I think she's an outside chance, epsecially if she gets a clear run to the rail. Of course this race is a much tougher ask, but I like dogs who are strong in wet, which Paula Nikita was against Jamison Bale over this trip a few weeks ago.
Overall: Must consider.

#3 PURE GRUNT Is easily hit-and-miss here. Has 25 wins from 71 races with a further 12 placings. So has twice as many wins. This is the problem that we encounter. Has faced some smart types recently, so this drop in class will suit. Has a sizzling 30.15 Cranbourne win to his name, and has broken 30 at Sandown on a few occassions. The only issue is the inconsistency. I also believe that the early speed for all runners surrounding him will cause an issue.
Overall: Am willing to risk, even though is more talented than others.

#4 MYSTIC THYME Didn't have enough clear racing room last start to get into the race. Has only won 3 races in 9 months, and lately has been missing the kick, which is somethiing that puts him out of the picture. This box is far too difficult to overcome given the nature of this race. That and I think he is out of form.
Overall: Not for me.

#5 MISS MINI ME Willl have trouble from this draw as gets pushed around far too easily. If she was to get a clear run, I would defiantely consider her in the exotics as can run an ok time. But only has 3 wins from 44 starts. Thats enough to persuade me to ignore, especially in this company.
Overall: Ignore.

#6 KINGSTON BELLE Returning to racing after a spell with 3rd over this trip, running a time of 31.75. First split 12.77 was a lot quicker than Miss Mini Me, so should have no issue crossing, but faded in the run. Has a great P.B over this trip in 31.02, but that was last year October. I've put it down, that this dog is going to be the cause of some carnage at the first bend.
Overall: Trouble maker in this one.

#7 AMELIA BALE Well sister to Amity Bale has hit some recent distance form with strong wins at Sandown. Has only missed a place 2/9 times from boxes 7-8 and does like to lead. Just like her sister. This race is definately suitable and should overcome any slight trouble as is simply the strongest runner in the field.
Overall: The one to beat.

#8 TWO FACED On paper is the worst runner, but given the way the race may unfold, he might find himself an unlikely place-getter. But that is given that I get this speed map right! Couldn't have otherwise as needs a heck of a lot of luck.
Overall: May be the lucky runner to sneak a place!
