DAY 11

Bendigo

Race 1 Maiden Heat 430m

#1 MANIA ENFORCED Was our on top selection last outing over this trip. Began with the leading group from a difficult box 6, checked off the heels slightly before the turn. Then as went to push across to the rail, copped a huge check and was spat out to the rear. Despite that still ran on ok in the finish for 7th. This draw will suit MANIA ENFORCED hands down. Likely to lead and from there should be too classy for these.
Overall: I like this one a lot.

#2 FELUCCA Well last run wasn't overly impressive as got an almost perfect run in the race and still didn't post the best of times. That may be of course due to the fact the winner didn't post that strong of a time. And sometimes dogs can finish 12l second in a FAST time and get a STRONG time themselves. So be weary of that. I think he will struggle a little here as wont cross the red.
Overall: Don't be afraid to use for exotics.

#3 SHIRAZ MASTER Time was slow. 25 seconds at Bendigo. But look at the run. Squeezed early on the rail before the bend. Came again on the inside, pushed up on the inside of others and belted them out of the way. Once he got clear running he really did close in on the winner. Has won a qualy in 24.32 (average maiden winning time is 24.50). So as you can see, the clear run factor is a HUGE factor.
Overall: Danger Will Robinson Danger!

#4 YANKEE FLYER Might have pulled up sore after last run. Was given a little break from the track and now returns to a hard maiden. Ran a 26.70 Ballarat qually. 20 or so lengths behind BOD. Needs to improve a lot here. And just won't.
Overall: Not for me.

#5 SUPREME DARKNESS Squeezed horribly on debut at Shep. Wanted the rails, then when started to improve checked off the heels again. Then again exiting the bend. That says to me! Not smart enough. But with the perfect race, looks ok. Unfortunately won't get a clear run today.
Overall: Needs a clear run.

#6 NO ALIMONY Might have trouble crossing the field here. Runs at Shep over 390m have been solid performances. Just not quite sure whether she is ready to win. Race-caller Ron Hawkswell has put on top. Watchdogs selections is 4th. NGF have her as 3rd selection. So definately included in the exotics by those in the KNOW.
Overall: Given a chance by the pro's. Exotics only.

#7 LIZZIE JAY Not willing to totally forgive her run last start when she was squeezed in a tightening pack at Shep. Mainly because she has experienced trouble in all of her others starts. Her qualy win over this trip is 24.68, which isn't enough to beat these inside draws. Also unlikely to cross 5,6. I can see another troubled race for Lizzie Jay.
Overall: Finds too much trouble.

#8 ARCTIC BEAST Has been tried over all sorts of distances with no luck after 18 starts. Has 6 placings, but needs a lot of carnage and needs to be handy in the running. Unlikely to even feature here after Geelong 600m 35.87 run. Which is just too slow.
Overall: Too Slow

This seems like a clear cut exotic race to me for quinella's and exacta's. Tri's, have to explore and put faith in others.

Selections: #1-3-2-6

BENDIGO Race 2 Maiden 430m

#1 UNO CRAZY I remember both runs at Healesville and they weren't that strong. Especially considering the class of the maiden races. Has struggled even more on the circle tracks and that is likely to continue here. Even though has box 1, I find it hard to see UNO CRAZY coming into play. Will benefit from this run and draw though.
Overall: Not today.

#2 PURE ARTEMIS I know this maiden race is a lot easier. But last time out, didn't perform that well. Began with the best of them. But just kept on weakening and weakening. Of course the check did play a huge part in the performance and does go OK when on the bunny. But once again. I don't think this is going to be her day.
Overall: Exotic player only.

#3 GABLE TITLE Breeding goes alright and Cranbourne qualy time wasn't exactly slow. Far from. But in race conditions has missed the start on all ocassions. Might ping here, and willing to take a punt on that.
Overall: If your going to take a gamble on a runner. This is the one.

#4 SOUTHWOOD FIFTY Hard to judge this runner. Had a long bumping contest at the rear of the field over this trip last start. But when got clear of that really did come into his own and made a lot of ground up on the leaders. Ran a time of 25.42. So you can ignore that completely. However. He does need a lot of clear racing room. And with the likely leaders on his inside. He might just get that. Might.
Overall: Definate Place.

#5 LUCY MATE Surf Lorian - Uno Nan won the first 3 races at Horsham yesterday from memory. So no problem with the breeding on the dams side. Has pinged the lids once and ran a handy placing. But is unreliable, inconsistent and well risky business if your having a punt.
Overall: Too risky for my liking

#6 WHINGER LASS When a runner goes over 24 at Shep 390, you have to ponder what went wrong! But the only comment I can find associated with the run in the form-guides is GRAZES. Perhaps we have to look at the stewards report. Which reveals a lot more. Was just in the wrong spots at the wrong time and experienced some grazing to right hind. No stand-down period was imposed. So maybe we can expect a lot better today.
Overall: We don't know a lot about this one. Maybe best to wait.

#7 CAPTAIN CUP CAKE With a name like that, how can you not bet on him. But last start, we also thought he stood no real chance. And things haven't changed since then after his 25.39 4th last week. Just doesn't have what it takes. Mind you, this is a weaker field.
Overall: No

#8 SHAAYAL BALE Well last start was right with the leading pack. Too close in fact and got squeezed big time. Wide and squeezed don't normally throw winners. So can excuse that run. This is a much better race. I really think she is in with a strong chance here.
Overall: Possible threat.

Selections: 3-8-4-2

Result.... 4-5-6-7..... First 4: $3433.80

This brings our F4 profit just shy of $6000 after that particular race.

Who said you CAN'T win betting on every race?

I know I know. Only 400 races thus far. But ALL exotics are showing a profit (when boxing).

When we hit 3000 races we might be able to change some people's thinking.

Maybe?

haha i was following your tips for traralgon but then i went to work after race 3!! woulda made more money at home so frustrating! great work mate

had a quick look at mandurah tonight

Race 1: Metro Station is one which should win well, Annmala blue could be the value great kennel for the roughies.

Race 2: I like wellard bikimi here, got a few good runs under its belt and could give this a shake at odds. Mr Casual is good place value

Race 3: Diamond Show should win, second best for mine is Kaylee Monelli

Race 4: Lake Jewel by a stretch in this one, stand out in trifecta with Rumble Dutchess and Stylish Fun

Race 5: Babyteeth Rogers should provide great value, not without a chance, Karyns Shadow should win. Miss optimal should go well (should be a false favourite here in marco storm, very rare at mandurah was ok last run not good enough to win here i think) take this leg pretty wide if going the quaddie a few chances

Race 6: Rapt in Mischief for mine- look inside for exotics dont mind 1,2,4,8 box FF

Race 7: 8,4 and 1 are the only hopes. safe quaddie leg i reckon

Race 8: 1,2 could deadheat this, i cant split them at all 1,2 quinella looks a safe bet 1,2,3,4 if going wider

Race 9: Bolshies Baby. the tote is generally a good indicatior of whos in with a show in this race

Race 10: trickiest race of the night but if you look hard theres always the big roughie. i usually disregard the favourite in race 10 just because i have seen a pattern develop although Oxley ruler looks very very tough to bet against. good roughie here is Fever Freeway although it is the dogs first crack in these company.

Race 11: Thats KArma with Goin Insane a good roughie

That is a handy 8.5k profit in 13 days of punting.

Now as you can see we are doing poorly when it comes to EW betting on all selections. None are showing a profit at level stakes.

Yet in exotic betting, all bet types are showing a profit.

This means, that there is PLENTY of improvement (we hope) to come in terms of EW betting. With that improved S/R you would hope that the exotic punting improves dramatically.

What I may endeavour to do (depending on the time available) is put up my markets for CLEAR CUT races.

This will mean, that I am confident that the winner will race well, rather than having a selection on top in an OPEN race.

For instance.

If we break it down into sections.

$1.50 - $2.50
$2.50 - $3.50
$3.5 +

The S/R for these selections is obviously the key factor that we are looking at. As Under 30% S/R for top selections just doesn't cut it. Especially at the odds my selections are.

And that is the trouble with greyhound racing. There are a lot of short-priced favourites. And when roughly 35% of all races are won by dogs leading at the first bend, it doesn't leave much room for error when selection those sort of dogs. As we all know how inconsistent they can be!

Once we go through the data of markets. We might be able to understand which races are better to hit with stand-outs. And which races are better for boxing.

We are showing just under a $300 profit in trifecta's by boxing our top 3 selections.

So that is a good start. As later on, we will want to hit certain exotic payouts X 2, 3, 4 and up to X 10.

This will be purely based on our ability to improve the S/R at the lower odd end of the scale.

The Meadows

Race 1 Maiden Final

Heats were conducted last week Wednesday, so completely different conditions when comparing against today. Also there was one maiden heat that had to wait until Race 9 on the card, where the others were races 1,2,3,4. This can make a difference as SOME inexperienced dogs get quite nervous when they are waiting in foreign kennels.

I don't think times are THAT important when it comes to this kind of race, as since they are still inexperienced their times are going to vary a little in the first part of their career. Well their consistency levels won't be the same as they are not used to racing in a field of 8.

So sometimes when you have a clear cut favourite on times it can be a tad misleading. Well thats what I think anyway.

#1 ELANE OCTANE Got a dream run in her heat from box 2 as the leaders went wide giving her plenty of space up on the inside and away she went. She ran a time of 30.68 and her first split was 5.29. Second spit was 18.34. Which means that of the races, her run home was the second best. If she can jump a little quicker, then she will definately be a good prospect in this race.
Overall: Chance of an upset here.

#2 MOZZIE GALORE As soon as the lids went up he charged to the rails, but smashed into the red as wasn't able to cross (not many can after 1m of racing). That was a huge set-back as got squeezed up again before the bend as #7 charged across to the rail. He was checked off #7's heels and went wide at the first bend. Still chased hard right throughout the race and even though was 9l 2nd. Should be primed for this.
Overall: Placegetter for sure.

#3 DYNA EASTON Had the right amount of luck, but not the right amount of class. His heat only had 6 dogs in the race. Did cop a slight check, but tired strongly at the finish line a slow 30.86. I think with a full field here today and drawn between quicker beginners he will struggle right throughout this race.
Overall: Too slow.

#4 VITESSE Was the quickest first split runner in all the heats. This gave him the best possible opportunity to peform. Yet the run home wasn't that strong. Faces a difficult task here, as doesn't have the red box and won't be as lucky in the running. Not too mention that with that slower run home time than others, it may prove to be a bit risky to gamble on an all the way victory.
Overall: Needs luck.

#5 MOST BAXTER Initially I was convinced that this was the one with a chance of an upset. But now I am not so sure on that. He did show great mid-race pace and race smarts. Didn't begin well initially in the heat, copped a bump, then on the bend copped another bump and then was slightly checked off the heels of the leader. Quickly got to the front down the back, but slowed right on the line. Ran 30.44. Run home time was only .2 of a second (i think) different from the fastest heat winner who went 30.13. So with so much interferance there is definately a chance of an upset. But I like #1 moreso now.
Overall: Willing to give a chance. Might be a tough of unders.

#6 CATHY DOUGLAS Was unhampered in heat and just didn't have the motor to go with them. Ran 30.73. Just not for me in any shape form or fashion.
Overall: No

#7 PATH BLAZER The red hot favourite for this race after 30.13 heat win. Definately relished the race start on a straight rather than on a bend. Surged to the rails as soon as the lids opened, crossed the field and then ran away from them up the back straight. Is in a top kennel and should be hard to beat. Although. Had the strongest run home, so you would think that even if he can't cross then he should be running on. If under $2 then I would lay.
Overall: Likely winner.

#8 TROY SUN DOAH Really did finish off the race quite nicely. But hugged the rails the entire race and was basically under no pressure at any stage. This is a worrying sign as will have to do a lot more work from box 8. And that is the factor that I am most concerned about. Willing to completely risk due to box draw and lack of early speed.
Overall: Faces tough task from this draw.
