can anyone recommend a good syndication place? I'd like to get in the game either through a breeding or racing syndicate. Looking for some advice as no doubt there are some shonky ones out there.
Search for a member called 'bulldogrob' here on BF. He runs/is associated with a good syndicate, Winning Glory Syndicates (?).

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

It has been 4 weeks or so since the big upgrade for sportsbet. They used to have a great blackbook service. They no longer have it the way it used to be, and after being told 4 times in that timeframe that the techs are working on it, it is still no longer fixed or accessible.

I can no longer add a greyhound to my blackbook. This is shitting me off no end! I was also told I could no longer add any horse or greyhound after a race has been run. What is the entire point of a blackbook? To add a great run out of a race, and here they are saying that you have to be psychic and workout who you want to follow BEFORE the race.

What a joke they have turned out to be.

So, after all that, I am on the lookout for a blackbook service for the greyhounds, but not just Victorian greyhounds, like the GRV site has. Just on that GRV site, I have also missed greyhounds racing again, because I do the form on a Sunday for the previous 4 days or so, and if the greyhound I have marked down in their blackbook has already been an acceptor at an early week meeting, I don't get the email alert. Another thumbs down to that.

I am so glad Sportsbet get none of my business, what a pathetic service they seem to provide.

Vince, I think it's time you opened a Sportingbet account, they have a blackbook service that's quite decent, including greyhounds, and their formguide for the dogs is good too.

Unique Venom is in Tomorrow at Ballarat. 7.18pm. Drawn 5 so will need some luck.

I disagree, i think he will do well. The main pace is coming from box's 4 and 3 leaving him room to get out providing he jumps well. Has a faster time then the 2 favourites (box 3 & 4) and has better closing speed then the previously mentioned 2. If he is odds of 5 to win 1.80 ish to place i will hit him hard. :thumbsu:

Good luck tomorrow night, all you need is a decent jump and the 2 and 7 to run forwards and not their typical crab like sideways crap

I think Kardinia's statement is 100% on the mark. Especially from a squeeze draw.

You say the main pace comes from box 3 and 4? What in the world are you basising this on? There are no split times available to the public for these qualifying trials and even if that was the case, I am under the belief that the quallies are run in a 4 dog field. This makes for deceptive split times and overall times as dogs are not swabbed and are racing under easier "race" conditions.

Then you can factor in the fact that the race contains 6 actual first starters which mean they will more than likely be green as grass and definetly unpredictable again throwing caution to the wind about using data from just one qualifying run.

How are box 3 and 4 the two favourites? Aston Blake stood in the box and ran straight into other dogs when accelerating on debut at Warragul off the back of his smart 22.59 qualifying win. That was nearly 2L quicker than any other runner in the field.

Throw in, the mentioned dog, Unique Venom moves from Box 1 in a small field to box 5 in a full field. That cannot be a positive unless you are a flawless beginner.

Regardless, any 11L trial winner is devastating on form paper and he looks to be one of the leading chances based purely on that info supplied but there is 2.5L seperating all 8 greyhounds which means that early luck will play a big role in the race and any greyhound can win. I mean take a greyhound like the red who has shown early speed in all its starts but tired and has track sense and he has a good chance too.

I wish you luck tonight and I am sure you will get your $5 on offer for the win as it will probably be $3 Aston Blake and 4-1 rest of the field and up. You might be surprised and get a shade closer to 10s. And at those odds, it is definetly worth a nibble, unless stable money smashes it hard ;)

You have just proven my point that he needs the 2 to stay true to its line and not bump into the others...

Im not the public so stating that the split times are not available to the general public has no impact on what i actually do know.

By seeing the times in smaller fields i am able to better assess their "true" acceleration and closing speed without other dogs impeeding there run, so if they get "clear" then i know what to expect.

The 3 and 4 being quick starters leaves from for the 5 to burst out with them, reducing the chances of being checked..

If Aston Blake wins i will eat my hat.

My predictions

5-1-4-8

It is hard to judge a dog on one run in a field. The dog clearly has ability(Aston Blake) as it comes out of a reputable kennel as was absolutely backed as if unbeatable when bombing the start and showing ZERO track sense what so ever. I also noticed it wanted the inside. Draw has to help.

Wow. So you watched all the quallies and recorded each split along with greyhound data from each runner. Impressive if true. :|

This is a catch 22. Of course you are able to view the greyhound's ability in a smaller field or even a solo trial. HERE is the catch. The race does not contain 4 dogs, 2 dogs or 1 dog. It contains 8 dogs madly chasing that fluffy bunny. You heard of cats that trial fast? Just because they break track records in trials do not mean it races as such in full field.

Good indicator? I agree with you. Trial/Qualie form straight into race form stacks up all the time? Not even close.

The 3 and 4 being quick starters leaves from for the 5 to burst out with them, reducing the chances of being checked..

Agreed. IF the 3 and 4 come out fast, hold their line and dont either a) hold out the 5 or b) take it off the track. You also have to factor dogs #6,#7 and #8. Do they rail? Do they run straight? But if the dogs directly inside of Unique Venom begin hard and straight, then I agree with you that it does make it an easier task from the #5.

If Aston Blake wins i will eat my hat.

Can I watch? Also, if its not in your top 4 you obviously would want to lay him? What price would you lay him for and if so, would you take action on betfair?

:)

P.S. I hope the dog wins for connections tonight or actually, I hope it runs 2nd and AB wins so I can watch someone eat a hat. I have heard the saying before but not witnessed it ;)
