Didnt have the best day, in that we all wanted to see him grab a couple and kick a couple. But I like the way this kid moves around the FL. He doesnt look like a newbie and has real good closing speed. A couple of mistimed attempts at marks were probably nerves etc, but i have a feeling that this kid will arrive with a bang in the not to distant future. ;)

We know he can take a grab. All the players might try and get him into the game a bit more in the next few weeks. If he ends the year on 20 goals then he has had a very good year.

I got the feeling yesterday,he did not want to get in the way of Jack. Why would you when you he is on fire. With experience he will learn to present and impose himself. When he feels he belongs at this level, this kid will be a gun.

He is super quick for his height as well. Hope he remains injury free and plays for the rest of the season. A goal a game for the rest of the year would be awesome. Takes a player away from Jack already as well.

Very agile and you can tell he has a football brain... let JR8 dominate for now... there will be games where Jack is not quite as white hot and then it will be up to the mids to go to Griffiths as well.

I'd keep playing him for sure.

Looks to have a very athletic build too. At 198cm and 99kg he still looks like his frame could put on another 5kg+.

I just re-watched the game, its important to note that I think he only had the ball kicked to him twice. Once by White in the 2nd where he took it about 70m out, and once in the 3rd where King honored his lead but he ran under it abit.

I think he should get a gig next week. Ideally we would be able to give him a couple of gifts to get him going

You want him to average 2 goals a game for the rest of the year?
Jeez, I'd be happy with 10 for a first year tall in 10 remaining games, he may not even play all of them

No, and i dont think he will i said it would be a good year for him. Thats what he should be aiming for. Or if not goals getting goals assists etc.

Just getting used to the pace ... i hope they just leave him in there the rest of the year . Will only help and fast-track him.

Staying out of Jacks way at the Mo and sticking to the structure

I was really impressed with his pace yesterday. As previously noted looks to have really good closing speed. Could be a real weapon as the lead up forward leaving JR as the stay at home forward who can work into the space provided by Griff. Midfielders should make a real effort to spot him up in the next few weeks as we can't keep going to Jack. Cannon for a foot as well. Loved his long bomb into the forward line.

Also like Astbury's game. Clean, great kicking and very calm under pressure. We have a couple of talls for the future I reckon.

would have liked if ben got hold of the ball a bit more, but agree that the ball wasn't really directed at him much but he played a great decoy role. there were only a couple of times when jack had an extra defender on him.

loved his chasing as well. great speed for a 200cm bloke.

In a win like that, it's a bit disappointing that he had no impact on the scoreboard and didn't really touch it.

In a normal game I wouldn't be too fussed, but in a 10 goal win, playing in the forward line as a key forward, I would have liked him to kick one.

But I don't expect him to kick more than 5-10 goals this season.

I would prefer him stringing together good performances at Coburg, 4 games in a row with 3 goals would have been ideal. But I guess we can't wait and need to fast track his development.

that would be the worst thing to do. Let him take us to where he is at and then assess where we want him to be if its not where he has taken us. No more fast solutions for the sake of it. We need calculated development that produces the goods ;)

With Jack on fire, its the ideal time to play Griff. Can play the decoy, and not have to much goal kicking expectation. Just needs to make sure his opponent doesn't hurt us going the other way.

Focus on his defensive abilities first, and the goal kicking can come later.

His defensive pressure was great, chased HARD and tackled all day. Dimma actually moved Jack out of the square after his ten to give Griff a shot but you can't blame any forwards day there, every player was hell bent on finding Roo. Griff led well and drew a defender. He'll goal soon enough
