And what separates Ellis as an outside player and prospective top 2 from Walker?
The kid's still a player to watch and if Walls says he'll be a 200 game player I'll back his opinion more than a trolls'!
Trolls aren't people who don't agree with your opinion.

Walker has been in the system for a while now, and hasn't impressed enough to warrant a top 2 selection IMO.

Its still early, I know that. But all i said was no club would give up a top 5 pick to get Walker on their list. I know I'd be horrified if Hawthorn gave up pick 3 or 6 for Walker, its better to take a chance on a Ellis, Murphy, Hurn, Dowler, Clark, Swallow etc. Rather than someone who hasn't impressed yet, and is yet to justify such a high selection.

Walker has been in the system for 2 years but his form at AFL level is average because he's been forced to play out of position due to our lack of players. If we just wanted a crap tagger we'd play Bannister, but Walker will be a gun player and this is just part of his football education.
If he was released onto a flank where he'd justify his selection rather than having to tag there wouldn't be the same criticism. If Lewis hadn't debuted for the Hawks you'd still be patient he'd come good and Walker is 1 month younger than Lewis but with an immature body.

I'm not saying Walker wont be a good player, I never did.

All I'm saying is I don't think a club would give up high picks for him, as he hasn't proven himself.

You said earlier Walker would go top 2 easily this draft, I disagreed and said no club would give up a number 2 pick to get walker, not even a top 5 pick.

Collingwood gave up pick 7 to get pick 10 giving the Hawks Lewis! :D And you're right clubs wouldn't trade an early pick for another kid.But if it's an average draft as predicted he'd be a better talent than on offer in this year's crop at 1 or 2! If Carlton had have taken another player he would have been the next name called out!

The problem here is that people were widely dismissing the 2003 draft as an "average" draft also.

Nothing against Walker, but I'd be running with Murphy, Ellis or Hurn before even giving mild consideration to redirecting it to use on Andrew.

Comparing Griffen to Roughead is like trying to compare Tredrea and Cousins, it just doesn't make sense.

Well, no, but 95% of posters on this site would feel perversely comfortable with the notion of having Chewbacca living on Endor with the Ewoks...

That's O.K, but most judges who aren't Hawks fans rate Judd as the best player in 2001 and Griffen as the better footballer than Roughead even Deledio. It's all about what they'll be at their peak rather than their first few years and 1AW has better attributes than the others.
