I swear you guys are a laugh, complain that players who aren't having an impact should be dropped, then when we do such a thing, it's but but but he should have stayed in he'll never develop like this.

FWIW I'm all for Griffiths being part of the side, but like anyone he needs to continue to perform to warrant selection, we can't just continue to give him games because he is young and talented, all that will do is set in stone that he can get through without actually earning his spot. Send him back to the VFL and give him the chance to settle into the CHF position, so that when he does come back to the senior side he'll be ready to step into that role and perform as we want him to.

Lets not forget that Griffiths has played as our second forward/ruck the past 2 weeks and has gone goal less in the past 3 weeks, no matter how good a kid is, you can't have that sort of return from your second option tall forward. He'll learn from it and it will make him a better player as a result.
Agree. love what he has done so far, but it isn't the end of the world if he goes back to the 2's for a rest and reset. Remember he has struggled abit for consistency over his career, so this isn't a surprise. Hopefully, he can get more of the ball, kick some goals and get straight back in, in 2 weeks.

The kid was asked to be the long marking option when we were kicking out from full back.... he was asked to be the lead up forward on the wing.... then we he wasnt doing that he was asked to go into the ruck to give Hampson a rest.. Watch the game again and tell me which big man out there had a bigger impact on the game.
I'm hoping the reason why he was dropped was to give him a rest.

Surely that's not all he is judged on? He's still a kid. Consistency is what will make him better and the best way for him to find that is to play weekly
I don't subscribe to the theory of gifting games. I actually really like griffifths he was good for us early but if your going to play 50/60 percent of the game as a tall forward you have to take a few marks inside 50 and hit the scoreboard.

Did you see his contested Marks on the wing in the first half against the Hawks??? his Marks in defensive 50? His long accurate kicks of a couple of steps??? this is a stupid decisions by the RFC....
Mate he only took 3 marks... Yes he had one or two highlights but is not consistent enough to keep his spot. Just doesn't give us enough.

I'm happy Vickery is back as we've seen how good a duo he and Jack can be. Hopefully he finds form again. They helped us get to 15 wins last year. I like Griffiths too and am pretty happy to have young KP players (22 and a 23 year old) who have plenty of improvement left in them. Jack's only 25 too.

Griffiths isn't the only player who hasn't kicked a goal of late, playing as a lead up chf often sees a player kicking to players deep in the forward line rather than having a shot themselves.

We should be playing both Vickery and Griffiths every week to increase their currency. They are both ruck/forwards which are the most valuable players in the AFL at the moment. Bulldogs, Bombers, Blues, Saints, Lions all need a forward/ruck, and their going to have pretty high draft picks this year.

What could Vickery have possibly learnt from being dropped , he has returned without banging the door down by any means.
He needed to learn defensive efforts and working hard to get to front position when the ball moves into the 50.

If he's learnt this, I'm happy for him to return to the senior side.

True but as I said you can't have your second tall forward going 3 weeks without scoring a goal

Griff just shows Hardwick has NFI. Obviously hasn't been playing bad in the AFL and it has shown in the VFL where he actually has players kick the ball to him inside 50.

Serious question how many times did he get kicked to inside forward 50 in the AFL in the last 3 games? Because I'm pretty sure that'll answer the question why he hasn't kicked goals; he's either up the ground or our team is too shit to get it to him.

He better be in the team against Melbourne, unless we win today, and A.Edwards and Vickery play a big role.

Like Vickery did? I notice he's still playing from behind, certainly deserved his recall..

He responded better than Vickery did, question is will he be recalled? Will the posters who have lauded the decision to drop him say anything if he doesn't get recalled and double standards are clearly displayed once again?

Pretty sure that was Griffs first bag of goals, at any level, since being on the list - Great to see him respond well to being dropped and really stamp his influence on a game :thumbsu:

Question is, if Hardwick doesn't want to bring him in for Aaron Edwards, can we get away with playing Ty/Griff as our rucks and leave Hampson out?!
