You can tell the club is desperate to get a win to try and silence the critics (had the same feeling after the GC game when McDonough was dropped for the experience of King).

Same sort of thing here but the funny thing is I think we would have more chance of upsetting Geelong with Griffiths and Arnot in the side than taking them out and keeping Petterd, Chaplin, Thomas etc.

Oh i hear ya mate. Just going on a whisper, now it might not come up but well see :). The reserve team sheet is not confirmed till 5pm today. Keep in mind the reserve side also contains names such as Pettered, Thomas etc

couldn't agree more. I was excited about the prospect of Griffiths ,arnot and McDonough progressing this year.saw some glimpses. It frustrates no end to hear the media and other club supporters feign unsolicited sympathy & give the old' I told you 2013 was a fluke year ( if winning 15 genes can be considered a fluke ). Please tigers play these guys. And why no Lennon yet ?

Let me state up front, I don't like the decision and think they should have compiled a plan to have Griff in the side even if they were desperate to get Ty back in, BUT..... I think this talk about Griff moving on, club's lost the plot, worse decision ever etc, etc is a little extreme. This is not his death knell. He has a chance to go back and show the club what he has at VFL level. He can force his way back into the team. Easily.

Oh, and before folks say, he'll feel aggrieved and want to leave. Maybe, but I'd hope not. We need strong characters. I'd hope Griff and others would have more spine than that. Admittedly it'd be hard with the tendency to keep the same oldies in the team that have let us down recently, but again, suck it up, get on with it and bust the seniors door down by good performances.

A hicup for Griff no doubt. He can overcome it. My prediction is he will be an established senior player by year's end.

Pretty hard when he has pretty much been our only lead up marking option.... Hampson has taken 1 inside 50 mark...

All his teaches is selfish play in the future to kick for goal at all costs
 
Pretty confusing decision.

Makes you wonder if they sat Vickery down and said... Look, you don't really deserve a game and Griffiths doesn't really deserve to be dropped, but we're giving you the chance, you'd better bloody well take it.

Honestly if Vickery plays like a handbag on the weekend he will just confirm to me that the guy thinks he's great but he's a spud. Rumours before the season were that the guy didn't work hard enough, thought he was a lot better than he actually is.
Hope I'm wrong on the weekend, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Some people say Griffiths Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Can't agree with that, but it sure as hell sums up Vickery.

Whatever happens on the weekend, keep Griffiths, trade Vickery. We'll take Freo's first pick thanks.
