Good to see Big Ben playing in the right position this year, starting to play to his potential.
Hopefully some others will join suit and to play in their correct positions.

He hasn't made it by a long shot. However I'm prepared to say I was wrong about you big ben, his competitiveness has improved and he seems to show some ability to read the game around the ground which I'd never seen from him at any level previously. If we traded him this year we'd easily get back what we paid for him, so that's a big tick for recruiting.

His tackling numbers are a real standout in addition to his contested marking.

Both of these stats prove his new found willingness to compete.

Has been our best big man for 3 weeks now and is on track to kick 20-30 goals for the year as a 2nd ruck. This kid will pass Ty in the pecking order soon IMO.

I like Ben, but he was worse then Riewoldt yesterday and worse then Vickery against the Blues.

Jack has played 2 quarters out of 12. Ben ahead after 3 games IMO.

Jack was better against the dogs but Griff was still very good.

Vickery kicked more goals against Carlton but couple of cheapies...Griff took the big marks. Put him at Vickerys possie and I think he holds onto more and kicks more goals as a result.

I still think we have a very good selection of KPP depth, we just need to learn how to use them.

Jack, Tyrone and Ben are all players who can easily kick 3+ goals a match each, hell, even all 3 of them getting 2 each is a very good return.

The problem is the coaching staff isn't quite sure how to use all 3, to many time they're all packed together, meaning there's a huge pack around the mark. If each one was given a zone to work with + the injection of Gordon/Madonna/Lloyd, we may have a working forward line.

He's certainly crunching in more than Vickery and rucking okay for a relief, if we dropped a tall at this stage it would have to be Tyronne.

Amazing what, size, confidence in your body and faith from the coaches can bring out. He really is looking like he believes he belongs out there and is showing a steely focus....I likey. Couldn't of happened to a nicer bloke & it's only the beginning for him. If he continues like this for the majority of the year he could become frightening (for opposition teams). Won't that be real pity HMMMMAHHHH !!

Can we go back to calling him the Sex Monster? Or will that just get him head-hunted by St. Kilda?

With the way he is progressing, it won't be long before AFL defenders across the league start to bring some lube with them in anticipation of their match up with Big Bad Bustling Benny G (train)! :D
What about the goal from 55+ on the boundary!:thumbsu:

For those not at the ground today, the sound that the footy made when he launched that kick was like nothing I had ever heard. It literally BOOMED!

Get a contract in front of him NOW!
I was at the other end on the top deck. Heard the 'thump' and then there was just awed silence as it sailed through the big sticks. And then the section I was in went nuts. Some poor lady a couple of rows in front of me got drenched in beer.

Loved the celebration though. Players got around him!

I believe for those on here that are calling the coaching staff idiots and what not, that Damian hardwick was following the strategy of Alistair clarksons approach to jarryd roughead in which he was playing him down back in order to help his development as a forward. Could be wrong but i think it was mentioned at one stage in an interview.

Roughly 2 months ago i made a comment to that moron coops that not only was Griffiths was a good 70mtr kick but he was also a very good contested mark !!!

Apart from that fool, there were a fair few on here that said NO his contested marking was no good and he rarely took contested marks

hmmmmmmmmmmm ................................... Could these people please stand foward

He practically hadn't taken a contested mark in a couple of years. Sure, he had the talent, but he had a pea heart. Chocco lit a fire under him big time.

On his contested marking, his timing is immaculate. You see a lot of big guys mistime their jumps completely, but not griff, i love how he takes a few steps back off the pack so he gets momentum and really throws his body into it. He's got a pretty decent leap on him so the defenders have no chance, if he gets his jukes on it, its game over.
