Seems like something is awfully bad at the club.....

Jacobs, Walker and Grigg all asking to be traded....all members of our best 22.....

Massive changes for next year....

outs: Walker (probably), Jacobs, Grigg, Thornton, Wiggins, O'Hailpin (probably), Fisher (probably)......

Doesnt read well. Can someone explain what Ratten has done wrong?

WTF is going on!

Someones come out of the closet

The exodus thus far...

- Grigg: I'd say 100% certain (3rd round pick - GC17)
- Thornton: 90% (3rd round pick - Hawks)
- Jacobs: 80% (pick 14 - Crows)
- Walker: reckon he'll stay now

It sucks, but we'll get draft picks for the 3 that are going - pick 14, and probably 2, 3rd round picks. And they were fringe players in reality, although Grigg showed impressive form later in the season. Really hope Walker stays - and it's looking even more likely with Grigg's departure.

On the positive, we're removing 2 disgruntled players (Thornton, Grigg), and getting 3 more draft picks, and will have 2 inside the top-20. It's a bit annoying that our list keeps getting younger and less experienced every year. I thought the reverse was meant to happen.

I'm ok with this - He's been disappointing.

I think If we wanted him he'd still be there with a longer contract or more $$ and neither was obviously offered.

I heard through a friend he was all but signed.

What's going on down there? Guys don't wanna work hard for a spot? or are guys sick of being in one week and out the next? or over looked for players that are spuds? Grigg was getting some good form back.:(

If ya after money Grigg...............then piss off. If ya wanna go home, then you should of stated it.

Grigg,Jacobs,Walker & Thornton look gone, who else is out of contract? or looks likely to go? Starting to lose that depth we were loving :thumbsd:

As others have indicated, it's hard to care about losing a player who wants to be gifted games, and is not prepared to work hard for their spot.

He was given an opportunity late this year, so he either wants more money, or is not confident in his ability to do the work required to get a game every week for us.

Either case, not the sort of player you want.

He looks all smug about it in that pic as well

Good luck to him I guess, but he'd want to change that attitude pretty quick, otherwise I doubt he will have a lasting career otherwise.

Losing a bit of speed in Walker & Grigg, which is one of our big advantages over quite a few sides. Its disappointing after putting in years of development into players that they leave just as Carlton FC start to reap some of the benefit. :thumbsd: Hopefully this is the last player to want out for next year.

Tweet this you moron Grigg
"Leaving Carlton because i have a heart smaller than a pea, and i'm a money hungry little sh!t".

All the best with your future, whilst we work HAD for number 17.

I'd say he will attract attention from Brisbane, Geelong, Richmond and Adelaide. Hopefully we can package him up with Jacobs or Thornton and get something decent.

Good point, its not like we're short of a dollar.

Be interesting to see if a preferred club is nominated ahead of trade week.

Some people complain that trade week is boring... This year is looking to be a cracker. Bring it on!

You're not wrong. This place has the potential to turn into crazy town.

We still have depth in the rucks, better than most teams, so trading a ruckmen was always a smart choice, whether it was their decision or ours.

Next year, Bower, Jamo, Davies, White, Austin & even Waite would still be prefered over Thornton, and that's not taking into consideration any backs we may pick up. Although I'd prefer to keep Thornton, we're hardly losing depth when he will potentially be the 8th choice in line.

Walker is yet to be seen, though we will gain adequate compensation, and therefore our depth will not be affected.

Grigg is the only one that will hurt our depth, as we won't get fair compensation. That's only one player though - would rather weed such players out, and build depth with guys willing to put in the hard yards.

Grigg you piece of shit. You and Jacobs cannot suck it up and work for a permanent spot in the team. Go shove it up your ass. I hope Carlton end up winning a premiership in the next couple of years and dedicating it to you two assholes

im not sure whether losing thornton, wiggins and potentially carlos and fisher is necesarilly a mark against the club.

Let the number crunching begin!

Grigg + Sauce to Adelaide for Talia + 2nd Rounder????

No Talia

Couldnt think of a more unbalanced trade. Yes were not in the best position to bargain.

But talia is not a good player, lets not trade a lazy player out in grigg to get one in return like Talia.

The package needs a first rounder, we need to continue to bring in quality players like Lucas ect with picks inside the top 20 :).
