Oooh don't know about that .....don't discount Crouch
true of anyone on our list only Crouch can get close. But the short comings in Dangers game can be worked on. The "weapons" he has however aren't as easily learnt.

I love them both especially how they complement each other, Danger with his brute strength and power and Crouch with his sure hands and smart use of the first option
It'll be interesting to see Crouch's 2nd year

Here's my observation over his 2 years thus far .......both with West Adelaide & Crows, he has got better & better with each game
Many young players by years end get tired & run out of steam .....Crouch just kept getting better.....and in his first year, amazing and can confidently say, best first year of any Crow in our history

So rare .......very few players in history have had that rare combination of absolute electric speed and incredible power .....cannot think of anyone you can compare Dangerfield too, truly unique!

The lad is just a real "footy head", he xant get enough and eats, breathes and shits football, most importantly he just doesn't leave the coaches alone, he's like a sponge and keeps absorbing information

Needs to tidy up his field kicking. Maybe just kick lefty more often. He needs to be the one getting the linking handball and running towards goal.

That's definitely his weakness ......just needs to slow & settle over last few paces
It just seems ATM the adrenalin of the moment gets to him ......with maturity that's be fixed, it is getting better

He good on the sets shots however he just needs to learn how to balance when he is in top gear

As an inside midfielder would we be making the most out of his kicking skills though?

I think so. Grigg's ability to win the ball, find time, and then use it well looked exceptional in the few outings he had this year. That is a skill you simply can't buy.

Plenty of players can use then ball well when they receive it on the outside. Players who can do so while playing inside are diamonds.

Its pretty hard to judge this because Crouch had 2 full pre seasons under his belt which would no doubt helped hold his fitness up. He is by far the best first year player as far as a debutant season as far as impact goes. Although from memory Roo, McLeod and Goodwin all had pretty good debut seasons.

Grigg impressed so many because of his willingness to back his skill level in which a lot of the time these days seems to get squashed in favour of playing the percentages. I will be mighty pissed off if the crows coaching group try and curtail his natural instincts to back his skill level for safer options. One moment stood out for Grigg this season when in heavy traffic he pin pointed a kick to a team mate in full flight running through the centre of the ground surrounded by opposition players. That had the commentators in awe at his skill level and kind of gave the crows this little skill x factor. That sort of skill and performance should guarantee the kid gets played in round 1 next season.

Our midfield is going to be potent next year. With Danger, Sloane, Crouch, Thompson, Smith, Grigg, Douglas all running through the mids it will be impossible to tag all of them.

A fit Thompson is the key. If Grigg can take the next step then we have a very good midfield. Just need Sauce to pull the digit out and give us first use.

Dangerfield will always get the most attention, he has too many game breaking attributes to not do that, most teams fear him as well which means tag, tag and more tag.

Could he potentially release a Crouch or Sloane... Damn straight he might.

I suspect Danger will play forward a lot more in 2014. Just reading between the lines of things said by Sando several weeks ago. Can't remember the quote or where I read it, but it is possible that the club is concerned to extend his shelf life. The crash and bash style wears the body down. Maybe we will see Danger mainly forward against the weaker sides and mostly mid against the stronger.
A forward line of:
Betts Pods Danger
Lynch Tex LJ/Jenkins/?
would be erecting.

Didn't Ben Hart win All-Australian selection in his first year?

Also, as amazing as Crouch was, he did miss a good chunk of the season through injury, much easier to not run out of steam when not playing 20+ matches...

The difference is that Crouch has had 12 months in the SANFL plus 12 months of AFL and is about to start on his 3rd pre season with an AFL club. Most kids drafted last year (eg Wines) are beginning their second AFL pre season. Along with O'Meara, Crouch is a year ahead of all other players of the same age. This should allow him to play the majority of games next year barring injury

Zomg. In that light it's even more amazing that he can get himself right to play every week.

Only ones you would tag 100% would be Danger. If Thommo can get back to 2012 form he is worth a tag and if Douglas is on he might get one. No way you tag Sloane/Crouch/Smith or Grigg.

That is the point that i'm making, if one gets tagged the rest can get off the leash
