Anyone willing to put their hand up and admit Grigg had a pretty good game today?
Yeah, he tagged Ward out of the game. Didn't really influence the game with his possession though.

Earns his spot in the team next week but still of the belief he'll be outed from the best 22 come years end.

Grigg proved again today that his role in the side is best suited to being a hard tagger. Best 22 in this role as he is the only bloke who looks like he can shut down a player.

Completely agree with that assessment. I was happy with Grigg today because I didn't really see him and I didn't really see Ward.

I would like to see Shaun Grigg used as a tagger more often. He has restricted some good players like Liberatore and Ward to minimal impact. Aerobic endurance is one of his main strengths so he shouldn't have any trouble running with an opposition midfielder all day. The more comfortable he gets with the role the more he should be able to gather possessions himself against his opponent. Having Grigg tag one of the opposition's best midfielders allows us to use players like Daniel Jackson and Matt Thomas who are good at winning contested possession in a more attacking role.

I'll put my hand up as an ardent non believer of grigg. He did ok today. So he came to play in a game against a pretty crap team in which we smashed. Good for him.

Id like to see him when we front of the big crowd, in a big game and you just watch him go missing. But granted, he did ok today.

Must be a tagger. Give him a man and he sticks to him like glue. Play him off a wing and he just pretends he doesn't have an opponent.

Well done Grigg. Who does he get next week?

Okay if this is going to be his role then so be it I'm more than willing to give him a crack at it. He has the motor and size to be able to play the role.

However he needs to play this role every week. None of this one week he's a tagger the next he's an outside winger skirting the packs having no influence. I want to see him work hard on his tackling and contested possession numbers. He needs to find a bit of dirty mongrel in his game too.

Send him to Heppell next week.

I agree but hes pretty skinny? If you put him on a dangerfield or watson i reckon he would just get out muscled around a contest

Have said this multiple times that I've lost count, should only be in the side as a shut-down tagger. Hope he does it for the rest of the season. Mind boggling if we send him out to tag Ward against GWS but let him run loose against Essendon. Time will tell I guess, but I'm hoping he goes to Stanton or Heppell.

He has to get Heppell, surely.
