Interesting.
How do you know these things, are you White's manager, part of his family or one of his BFF's?
And when did Dimma inform you that he was prepared to sacrifice MW for $30G, and confirm that he wasn't a loyal servant & that others were?
It was mentioned by his Father on another forum about three months ago and it's come up at least three times on this one
Who cares what the petty amount was
The point is that we lost a run and carry player and stocked up on slow footballers and kept lazy inept ones so Hardwick could carry out his new vision

you guys won the trade between the two clubs, Collins was delisted so that speaks for itself. Simply put though both players in any 22 does not a top four side make. In the end both clubs should have just delisted the players in the trade. I think many on here would agree.
Disagree
Malthouse realised Collins was just a list clogger and missiled him out of Sissy Park whereas DH hasn't come to the same realisation
The team who kept these guys the longest on their lists IMO is the loser bc they're taking up a vacancy for a kid
In our case it's also been expensive

Probably, but only when his spot is demanded by others, that has not yet happened.

So he should be allowed to continue just cruising along serving up crap every week because no kid in the VFL's has been BOG 12 weeks running yet?

Gotta love brightsider "logic."

What an over dramatization & demonstration of a "darksiders" illogical fury!

Darksiders are just realists - brightsiders should be actually called darksiders because lets face it, it's pretty dark up there where your heads reside.
Really, you consider yourself a realist? Bagging the club because we don't have an elite list or had to recruit players like Grigg to fill a gaping hole in our list, which he has done to the best of his ability, this season is probably his worst, but he's far from alone in that.
You want reality? The reality is that clubs like Richmond may not win another flag for decades, if ever again.
The reality is that we don't have a fair and equitable competition, the fixture is uneven, the drafts are compromised and the talent is spread too thin.
The reality is that we have progressed positively under DH & BG for four years &, at the first sigh of a setback, your kind of realist just throws his/her hands up and gives up, it's all too hard, let's sack 'em all and start again.
The reality is there are no easy solutions other than hard work, a set plan (not a rigid plan), a united club and the courage to fight back from any setbacks, without pandering to public or media pressure.
The reality is we have been so far from a flag in recent times that it IS hard to not lose hope, I understand that, I feel that.
The reality is that we have to try to get the best out of the list we have, as we did last season, and to improve it year by year.
The reality is that this club is now as solid off field as it has been since the 70's, and has finally caught up to, not passed, most of the competition.
The reality is Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong, Sydney, St Kilda & Fremantle were so far ahead in their list development four years ago it wasn't funny.
The reality is that the expansion clubs have hindered the development of clubs like us, The Bulldogs, Melbourne, Adelaide, Carlton, even Port (no matter how well they are traveling at the moment), St Kilda (since Ross the list destroyer left) plus Essendon, although Hirdism had more to do with that.
The reality is that players such as Shaun Grigg is still worth, and adds value, his place in the side as it stands now.
The reality is also that he must improve, along with others, to keep his place and that is as it should be.

The reality is the attitude of supporters like you reflects that of the club - acceptance of mediocrity and full of pathetic excuses.

Finally I agree with you TigerImposter. I agree that our recruiting outside of Lennon was a disgrace. I agree with you we should have taken a punt and gone for kids that had speed with Ok skills with upside. In saying that though, it can be fixed and fixed quickly.

Actually the reverse is true. Most brightsiders are realistic but mature enough not to cry like a bitch but dont let me burst your bubble

It takes a brave person to admit they were wrong but in the end we both suffered for it as our team is 16th
Quick fixes are rare unless you're Hinkley ;)

Doesn't need to be BOG all the time but you really can see the logic can't you. Grigg will get his 25-30 most weeks. Yes he will butcher a minimum 3, probably have another 10 that don't greatly help but also don't hinder and then 10-15 that do help. he has shown that he can finish with a few goals (last week was ridiculous from Grigg and others) over a season. He is well below his standard from 2012 and even from last year and I don't think anyone is disputing that. What is needed to replace him is a hard running, harder (ok that's not hard) outside player who can also get it 20 times or so. At the moment, that player is not putting their hand up. Miles should be in the side but not in Grigg's role. O'Hanlon or perhaps Helbig could play the role but certainly haven't shown it yet.

Can we address this through the draft and free agency? Hopefully, I'd like McKay from Adelaide in his place as an upgrade or draft someone to do that role. In the short-term though, it'd be bloody great if Grigg and 12-15 of his mates could start playing at the highest levels they have demonstrated in the past season or 2....

Seriously, the number of players playing below their best is staggering at the moment. It's not 2 or 3, it's closer to 15 or 20. I think Martin has been good, Astbury in career best, Griff has shown improvement (but is not setting the world on fire), McDonough is showing what he can do, Lloyd is up and down in terms of scoreboard output (should be in the team for mine though) and then I think Conca is playing pretty well after a quiet start. Other than those guys..... wow.

So just to reiterate, not a Grigg supporter but I can understand why he is there right now, I don't think he'll be a staple in the team when we improve (hopefully in 2015)....

How can you not be a foaming nut? We show promise and consistently **** it up the next year. The players aren't the same, the board isn't even the same yet we **** it up. We **** it up because we allow coaches to bring in mature players over kids and accept their mediocre performances because they are better than what a kid can dish up right now. I don't know where the mentality comes from but there should be a law at Richmond we don't trade picks and we don't pick up shit mature players. If we followed this rule for the last couple of decades we'd probably have won a flag or two and player finals for years. Instead we have to sit and watch a bunch of average footballers be run around by a copycat coach... Club is ****ed!
