Re: Grigg you weak ****!

U guys bagging Grigg are probably the same tossers who bagged JR. He was rushed back to cover for Hadley and had a bad one, yet he is young and will be a good player as is JR.

We're not saying he won't be a good player (at least, I'm not).

At the start of the year I rated him as our best young midfielder after the number 1 duo. I'm not sure what's happened this year but he's fallen right away.

His game against St Kilda was brilliant - stood up in a tough and tight game but he hasn't been able to reproduce that with any regularity this season. He was shocking yesterday. Just threw it on the boot every time he got it.

He needs to forget this season ever happened and get back to where he was at the end of 08.

Re: Grigg you weak ****!

he just looked like he didnt care!
jogging behind his man, and just lagging behind
general play...
all in all piss weak effort im sorry but it was:thumbsd:

Re: Grigg you weak ****!

Terrible thread.

You should be pointing the finger at Stevens and Scotland.

Grigg looks short of a gallop after having an injury interrupted season.

Was fantastic against St Kilda and will be a good player.

Carlton had to bring Grigg in with Hadley and Robinson out.

And he gains some big game experience that would have been wasted on a player who won't be there next year.

Re: Grigg you weak ****!

He's played 35 games. He is 21. It was his first final in an interrupted season. Look at the difference between Jordan Russell with 70 games v JR with 35. Same goes for all the crap about Yarran btw

Don't much care for the thread, but interesting point.
At times last night number 2 looked like Jordan Russell the footballer rather than Jordan Russell the maligned athletic utility.

Oh come on TG give AB a break ;) Grigga is going to have to improve his disposal out of sight.

We know JR and Yazza are favourites but I had no idea you hated Stevo and Scotty so much

TG I agree with you completely. I have posted a couple of times as have others, that Scotland whilst having done a great job for the club is gone. He is to bloody slow with regard to leg speed and decision making. Time is up, a couple of great years of service to our club, thank you Heath, but time to move on.

Stevens is the mid you have when you don't have a mid, great kicking skills, the left footed goal last night was brilliant, but defensively, with him playing, we are 1/2 a player short, its that simple. He has lost a yard in pace and unless he can be reinvented positionally is now a liability overall.

Neither Stevens or Scotland would get a game in the top 5 teams. Simply, thats the difference between us and the top 5, we are playing 6 or so who would have no chance of making the top 25 players in the leading teams.

Thats okay, some of these guys are young and need time and games, but lets bring them on quick and move these 2 oldies out.

Lots to like this year, Bower, AJ, Armfield, Hampson, Garlett, Yarran, Gibbs, Murphy, JR, Robbo, Kreuzer, lots of improvement made here, but some of these guys need another 25 - 75 games, and quick.

Re: Grigg you weak ****!

Your in the starting 22 to do your role. doesnt matter how young or inexperienced you are. The coach puts you in the starting 22, because he knows your good enough to do a tagging role, or a good crumber, or wateva your role would be. He will not put you in the team if he knew your going to have no impact. Grigg had a role to do and failed it quiet badly..

You obviously wanted Grigg to come into the side..and now are blindly defending whas was a disgraceful performance..if Grigg showed half the endeavour of Scotland he would be okay ..If he showed any pretence at chasing it may help his game ..but he appears to not care..his fumbling and bumbling cost us big time ..his atrocious disposal didn't help either ...i hope he improves because at the moment he is just an average VFL player at best .
Shame he doesn't have the heart of Wiggins .

Re: Grigg you weak ****!

Setenta should have played instead of Grigg, he is simply not ready for senior football yet.

And if we won most of these threads about bagging players wouldn't exist. The fact is, we lined up against a team which has Brown + Bradshaw: a destructive forward combination which contested against a team with an undermanned backline. It doesn't help when Jamo and Waite are out which then exposes our already fragile backline. Simple truth is imo, Setanta should've played. Setanta had the body to help down back and would've put in a more solid effort. But we'll never know and now we can eagerly await draft week :D

I was expecting big things from him this year
I have heard he has poor discipline off the field and even smokes.
Time for him to sort out whether he wants to play or not.
A terrible year and injury cannot be blamed for all of it.

Grigg will be a fine player in time.

I don't think of Grigg as a soft player and someone who can't kick.

We know he's better than that after his efforts last year...

I haven't watched the game again, but after catching one piece of play in the fourth quarter, I can see Grigg developing into an inside midfielder with his size and pace. Grigg won a contested ball in the middle after the bounce and stood up in a tackle like Judd before accelerating away to shake his man.

Gibbs, Grigg, Yarran, O'keeffe and Robinson should all be chained to the likes of Carrazzo, Walker and Judd as they run around Princes Park.

All need to improve their endurance.
