So here we have it the Allies bowlers' efforts to date, not much to be proud of there.
We've fallen badly from last season where only once did we conceed above 300 in an innings, losing 3 bowlers of the calibre of MB,RF#1 & GLEN has hurt us badly, to lose 1 would have been unfortunate, two careless but all 3 is just unforgivable.
Although we tried our best to recruit well we've obviously made mistakes!

In mitigation we've played on sound belting pitches this season where both sides have scored heavily but we can't hide behind that.

On a personal level after taking 50 wickets at about 16 last season I've got to be disapointed but I had a fairly healthy average of 25 befoe my old mucker Nick got me p*ssed on the night of the game & then proceeded to smash me all over the Gabba in our last match to give me match figures of 3/200.

Kretchy can hold his head up because as well as bowling reasonably well he's scored some vital runs including a century, his spin partner Hoggy must take this opportunity to reappraise his game & see where he's going wrong.

My(ex) new ball partner Seindude has consistently underperformed & seems to see his role in the side as court jester rather than contributer out in the middle. He takes a wicket every 20 overs whilst I manage 1 every 8 overs, therein lies the difference between us.

Masey is right though I must take the blame as leading bowler for not getting enough out of the boys & always being one to accept responsibility I hereby publicly tender my resignation to TheMase for the poor showing of the bowlers. The only bright spot on the horizon is new signing David who we hope will perform better than the present bunch.

Oops this hasn't come out very well so in short:

DIPPER 26@30.19
Kretchy 21@39.24
WCE 13@39.77
Hoggy 10@47.9
Steggy 3@51
Seindude 10@78.8

TheMase has come out saying that he will not accept Dippers resignation. "He is part of the club, part of the history, and I wont let him forget that. He is part of the soul of this club. Myself and Dipper are probably the only two that would do anything for this club, so I wont let him go. Dipper is a great bloke and a great vice captain, and a great mate."

This comes as Dipper has offered his resignation because of the bowlers poor form, "Dipper cannot be solely blamed for the bowlers poor form. He is obviously the 'captain' of the bowlers, but we have had some belters of pitches, and I am sure the bowlers will recover, and that includes Seindude. We will not let you leave the club Dipper, but nice try" :D

Weep you little boys - and suffer.

But Dip, you should really stay there. Without you, they have nothing. No respect, no credibility ... nothing.

But then I'm not saying you have much of that either.

;)

Well with that ringing endorsement from Masey ringing in my ears I'll have the bowler's in for extra practice & we'll get them operating as a unit.

I think it would be good for Seindude's confidence if he steps down a level so he'll be playing for the Allies under15 girls' team tommorow to see if he can pick up a few cheap wickets.

Hey Masey how about sorting out the batting averages so we can see how everyone's doing, it might be good for moral as you blokes have scored pretty heavily this season, or are you worried that you won't be topping them? ;)

Dipper,

By looking at those figures, I am the most economical bowler in the one-day matches for us (4.8 runs per over) although the luck hasn't been there with getting wickets so far this season. It's all about keeping the pressure on by restricting the runs and eventually, the wickets will come from batsman making a mistake.

Cheers!!

Sounds like Glenn McGrath talking, anyway I wouldn't be getting too excited about going for 'only 4.8' per over.Yet it does appear that your own particular brand of non wicket taking bowling is more suited to the 1 day game.

For those of you interested Seindude achieved a very creditable 2/50 in the Allies' gilrs u15 game, it appeared he would go wicketless but he very couragously came back into the attack after suffering some tap & showed the value of being able to blast out the tail by taking the wickets of the very dangerous nos 10 & 11, who despite it being the first time they'd ever played cricket we're no mugs with the bat as Seindude will tell you.

PS MAsey we need to get Thommo up the order, with an average of 56 & a s/r of 96 a big innings from her appears our best chance of making a big total.
