The problem with simple-minded solutions to perceived problems is that simpletons espouse them. Grim Reaper, the "Pauline Hanson of the BigFooty Board". Even Caroline Wilson agrees that North's short term future is guaranteed for 5 years by the new TV deal which ensures that there must be 16 teams in the comp,so NO team will "Go". Granted, at the end of the next 2005 it could be very interesting for some clubs as,with there likely to be only one bidder for the TV rights ,the consortium will have a fair bit of muscle and will probably want to change a few things and the number of teams in Melbourne "may" be one of those things,but not before then. So what's the point of saying "go now" or are you going to say that for 5 years?

It's what the Reaper would like to see and it's going to hurt him if it doesn't happen. I don't think he's convinced any of the Essendon supporters that he's an Essendon supporter despite going to a GF back in 1968. One thing for sure is that he isn't a football supporter.

I am a football supporter. I want the AFL to thrive, not to br brought down by unfinancial clubs who will never improve. I mean seriously, could you have had a better run than you have had the last seven years and you are still broke. When your form tapers off, and it will as it does to all clubs, you will really be in a pickle and that day is not a long way off. Sure you may be here in 2005, but here will not necessarily mean Melbourne.
