the fact that its a back isnt a good sign.. some blokes bodies just keep breaking down, praying Grimey gets through this![]()
Just caught the end of the Ox mentioning this on SEN a few minutes ago - I'm pretty sure he said Grimes would miss the first month of the season.
- Bad luck for the guy, hope he's back soon.

plenty to look fwd to........now im off to change my dream team...

I think for a stress fracture we should probably be a bit more conservative than 2 weeks rehab, I mean look at Jamar now he was meant to be back for round 1 but is nowing missing 8 weeks. But hopefully they know what they are doing and we can see Grimes very soon.In other injury news at the club, defender Jack Grimes will miss three to four weeks after developing a stress fracture in his lower back.
Bailey said the injury was a disappointment to the club but was hopeful he would be available for selection soon.
“Jack has completed a full pre-season, and has worked incredibly hard throughout,” Bailey said.
“We are hopeful that Jack will respond well to the treatment, and will be available for selection in three to four weeks.”
Once Grimes has completed a two week rehabilitation phase, the aim is for him to return to training in preparation to play.
well, from what's been said, its not a re-occurrence of that injury last year. If it is a stress fracture though, i'd been concerned, because they tend to be debilitating...

Jack Grimes out with stress fracture
MELBOURNE has suffered another injury a week out from the start of the AFL season.
The Demons say second-year utility Jack Grimes, who has impressed during the pre-season, will be out for up to a month with a stress injury in his lower back.
Meanwhile, Melbourne have also confirmed they have elevated rookie ruckman Jake Spencer after putting Mark Jamar on the long-term injury list
