Grimes looking elsewhere?

may be a good choice for us but his injury proneness is a worry imo

we have enough players who are injury prone.

He hasn't had injury problems for probably 4 years now
None at all has probably played almost every reserved game when he hasn't played seniors

I reckon the wash up from the Tigers' season means they will be doing a lot of work at the draft and avoiding picking up other clubs' players.
Could be wrong and Grimes may be the exception...
This.
Not sure the Tiger army will want the club to continue down a road that has already dead-ended them and pick up Grimesy.
Someone picks him up though surely!

I reckon the Suns will be a good fit for him.

So do I, and I would wish the guy all the best. Is probably the player I feel sorry for the most on our list, I know Trenners went through hell but at least he is getting games.

My opinion, I'd rather see him kicking arse for us, but if that doesn't happen, I'd like to see him go to the tiges and succeed. (and yes, I really do mean every part of that, even the tigers succeeding part ;))
I said the same thing about Petterd

Let this be the last time we put some great white hope in Barassi's number. It's time to make some new history.

They should just retire the number out of respect to Ron before he gets to old

I truly don't think he would mind either way. He's not a sacred number type of guy anyway, not to mention that sadly he has had slow progress dementia and I suspect that at this point jumper concerns, if he ever had them, are no longer an issue to him.

I think maybe we could rest the jumper a year or two if no compelling reason presents to hand it to someone. But I actually enjoy the goofy narrative of the sacred jumper thing. All teams have it. And even though some fans think it's cheesy, others love it. And I would like to see someone run around in the jumper again even if it is sentimental bullshit. Not to mention that I suspect some of the wealthy types that sponsor the club are largely Ron Barassi's age and they might enjoy it.

Out of current crop which player do you think would be the best fit for 31? I'd lean towards Brayshaw I think.

Yes. I like that. I'm not a million years old so don't have the experience of seeing Barassi play - but the idea works. Both tough as leather. I sort of think Barassi would like a Brayshaw.

Someone inform the press.

Wouldn't be surprised if it made the news theirs that much crap printed these days

'A source close to melbourne says he is worried about Brayshaw'

Concussion issues or just don't think he will be that good?

Little column A which is probably effecting column B
It's just a gut feeling without evidence though

I've got a bad feeling about Brayshaw ... not gonna say any more about it yet
I've actually had similar thoughts, although I'm not sure if it's real .... or a result of his limited and underwhelming game time this year, as well as the fact that we're Melbourne, and we aren't allowed to have nice things.

Saint would have similar concerns about Paddy I'd imagine.

And if Barrett said it you'd probably believe it :D

Hey I'm a religious MMM listener and he seems to have really good info
I remember arguing with Dez before Round 1 2014 when Barret said Hogan might be out for the year and the club said 1-2 weeks
Dez called him a flog and said he trusted the club and the rest is history
