I'm doing 3/4 Lit in Year 11, Media is a class I can ace with my eyes closed ;)

And it was theory lesson. Unfortunately we finished prac ages ago D:

But that aside, like others think, Davey must earn his spot back. Tapscott and Grimes are vital for us filtering the ball out from defence, so they do get it a bit easier. Davey at the moment often presents more of a liability...

Yes they are all similar, but at the moment Howe is playing football that makes him a vital part of our side, and I couldn't call for him to be dropped if we had every player on our list up and firing. If we had an AA CHF to come back in that would be the only reason to drop him. He's not playing as "just another mid-sized forward" but as a key focal point. I'm not sure how long he'll keep it up for, but I'm very happy with it at the moment.

Back to the topic, Grimes would be a walk up start. Tapscott is close but just one reasonable game at Casey is what I'd probably be after depending on the form of the others on the HBF line. Davey - I think is a walk up start. If he plays he's going to draw attention and make the side better. I think we were quick to judge him this year, and whilst he made a few mistakes I think we should remember back to last year when he was practically the difference between us winning as losing.
Howe has basically taken Bate or Dunn's place in the team. Doing a much better job of it as well thus far. Looks dangerous. With Jurrah and Howe down forward, we have some real x factor in our F50 now. Throw in an improving Watts, Petterd, the potential of Cook and we can do some serious damage. The only thing we need is a quick crumbing forward type. I'm not sure Wona is going to be that player and Bennell hasn't shown any consistency.

I would say yes to both Grimes & Davey but maybe give Tappy a week at Casey to get a bit of form.

I think there is a difference between a front runner & someone who is an outside player. Yes when we’re going well everyone loves him because he's such a brilliant user of the ball but because he's an outside player who's not as hard at the contest as, say Tappy or Jones he is the first one criticized when we aren't going well.
I don't think the problem is that Flash is merely a front-runner or an outside player; I think it's that people want him to be a workhorse and he isn't. He's a 'one-touch' player who adds a bit of silk to the team. Unfortunately, we've needed him to be the one who does a lot of our grunt work and while he's been able to perform admirably the last few seasons, it's not a role he's at all suited to. It's exactly the same as us trying to use Liam as a key position or main focus forward when he's really more of a wil-o-the-wisp, dynamic player. All it does it grind them down until they eventually eventually lose confidence and form. When that happens their lack of form becomes most evident because they aren't physical players who can regain their touch by crashing into packs. That being the case, I would play Flash in the VFL until he gets his confidence back (ball handling as well as decision making) and then I'd play him wide on the wing. Keep him out of heavy traffic and allow him to use his footskills without leaning on him to be something he isn't.

Davey is a walk up start, if you think otherwise you have no idea.

I hope he is moved to a permanate forward position.. we will have that luxury soon I think. He will be dealy in the foeward 50 roving off Watts, Jurrah, Jamar, Howe, Petterd etc etc

I always appreciate your insightful posts... In my opinion Davey is not a walk up start, he is an outside player who can get tagged out of games easily and who has been giving very little defensively. He was a passenger until he got injured, give me Nicholson or Howe any day.

We do seem to lack a crumbing forward, think Davey should be left in the forward line to play that role if and when he returns to the seniors.
Would certainly appear a good option to solve 2 problems at once. Some of us have been callin for this since quite early in the year. I still maintain Maric has all the attributes to play a small forward role, but he seems to get judged very quickly and harshly at AFL level. Then he gets dropped back to Casey and forgotten about.

Back on topic, I'd have all three go back through the VFL simply due to fitness reasons. If all three were 100% fit, Grimes comes straight back in but the other two should be made to earn thier spot.
