Can anyone explain to me what is that horrible buzzing noise on all telecasts of the cup games. It sounds like a pack of flies buzzing around the microphones. Its really spoiling the world cup coverage.

I see Lampard as a confidence player. If you watch him interviewed he comes across as quite sensitive, considered and thoughtful - not like most football players! That gives a clue to his mental makeup. Its probably part that and part that at Chelsea the team is kind of built around him. And no dont recall him scoring a deflected goal for England either. It just deosnt happen for him in the white shirt. It must really do his head in cos you can tell he really wants to be success with England.

Thats Kevin Muscat trying to commentate. Nah what your referring too is the vuvuzela. A musical instrument which is quite popular at almost all South African and American soccer games. Its just a massive blowhorn

My spelling won't be right, I'm sure, but it is called a vuvezula- essentially a long plastic horn that fans blow through- kind of like they used to bring clackers to the matches in the 60s and 70s. Yeah, it is annoying, and i read somewhere that FIFA was thinking of banning them because of the noise coming through the broadcasts.

It's ruining the atmosphere thats what it is. Cant see FIFA banning them for fear of being labelled racist or some shit.

I just pray they dont come the latest craze. If I see someone pull one out at Tottenham it will be going right down his throat

Thanx for that

Mido could of outrun Carragher last night. He was horrendous. Kings injured and Upson is worse than Carragher so it doesnt leave England in much of a position to pick and choose. As much as people glossed over the Rio injury it really showed how much he was missed last night
Should have gone with Phil "The Glove" Jagielka.

Didn't watch the game last night, but the replay of that goal the england keeper let through reminded me of kalac in the last world cup vs croatia... hopefully, like that goal for us, it doesnt cost england a place in the next round

Why is everyone treating England like its their second team?

Sheesh kebab! Just because you speak the same language as them doesnt make you AUTOMATIC friends

Why dont you make the Americans your second team? They also speak English over there too

nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing England fail

Same here.

Hopefully it does.

I find it dsturbing that you support the United States over England. Nobody wants them to win at anything - ever.

I hope the English lose at everything. Much prefer the Americans. :D

Argh! Too many Pommy descendants here!

I thought all the Poms that immigrate here hide in some place in Western Australia where you can get old, and be content to see the sun.

like EnglishWarrior I'm the real thing. :)

granted, I also despise most of the England team. but still: Ingurland~!

I officially cracked from the Vuvuzelas last night, Ill give them something to blow if they really want.:thumbsd:

For people questioning Heskeys inclusion, that is why he plays because he creates chances for those around him. The English should qualify quite easily even though Rob Green cost them the 3 points. Gerrard was good and it proved what we all knew, that the World Cup was his main focus for even most of last season.

Oh and the USA are the dark horses of the tournament for me. They will make it to the quarters im predicting at the expense of a larger nation.

En-ger-land till I die :toasts DB10 ~~ chink

Haters, give me one good reason for your anti-English attitude. And you do know where hatred comes from right?

No they question his inclusion cos it makes more sense to play 5 in midfield with Gerrard the one supporting Rooney You cant play 4 in midfield against decent opposition at international level. Almost impossible to control the midfield.

To be fair Heskey did his job well tonight. But Its not for the benefit of the team.

Jeremy Clarkson is one reason. What I would give to bunch that douche in the head. Also, relying on penalty tries to be competitive against the Wallabies. :D I also hate Oasis and Geoffrey Boycott. I could go on.

Actually I'll give you all those. You've got a point, we are a bit on the w***erish side.

I gotta say though, people who love americans and their culture, are usually, how should I put it, soft in the head.

Stopped reading at the bold section. :D I will admit the English are good at war and they did give us The Beatles and Phil Liggett. :thumbsu:
