Yeah I think so.. I reckon one more from Villa would be nice ;)

(and would make me feel a bit better about my Golden Boot betting)

EDIT: right on queue he nearly scores!

Villa could of had 4 but unfortunately for us he doesn't.

I'm calling it now. Spain won't win the world cup.

Their only player with a good eye for goal is Villa. Torres is totally out of form, Navas has nice dribbling skills but terrible at crossing, their midfielders don't look accurate.

You'd think they'd have improved after the loss against Switzerland but honestly, 2-0 to Honduras isn't convincing at all, especially considering all the oppertunities to score. Teams like Argentina and Brazil have a huge advantage over Spain in that category.

Spain still have plenty of scope for improvement especially in regard to finishing. If they can sort that out (especially Torres) they will be more than a match for any team in this tournament.

I'd still have Spain as a more likely winner than Argentina.

Loving how the Argies are now equal favourites...Fools money.

Is it fair to say Torres as a player is nearly finished. Its been 18 months now of complete crockery with no end in sight as far as a cure goes. Id hate to see it because when hes on hes the most exciting striker in the world but I fear we have seen the best of him. I pray someone sits him down and actually fixes the problem. Im sick of seeing Torres 40%. Its just not fair on him really.

Agree with belfast. Really liked to look of Mata. Has some X factor about him. Was much more impressed with the tactics, and subsitutes the Spanish coach made this time around. Fabregas needs minutes, as does Mata. Good move to take Ramos off too I thought.

Embers, saying that he is finished is a bit of an exaggeration. He has had no summer break since 07 so this has some effect. He won't be getting one again this summer but with the new top doctor Liverpool have hired (some Australian, forgot his name), his injury problems should be handled much better. Its a well known fact that he struggles after just returning from injury but expect him to improve with each match.

Its worst case scenario really and if last night is anything to go by im worried. He looked about 40% fit out there.

Injuries can deterioate rapidly. Look at Dean Ashton for proof.

Knee injuries are hard to return from as we all know. I guess we will see how it pans out for him.

Dominant performance and we all saw most of the spanish strengths in that game. Surely though they need to address the finishing aspect of their game? Never again will they have as many chances to finish in this world cup as they did against honduras. If Chile can hold out for a draw, then Spain will be playing Brazil in the 2nd round, and you can guarantee they won't have shots on tap for an entire match in that hypothetical game.

Embers: Ahh no to your post. He's still imo the best finisher in England - and would be one of the premier finishers in the world. He has superior acceleration, deceptive acceleration (probably more to the point) and is capable in the air as well - which not all similar type strikers are.

But I have to laugh at the commentator the other night being surprised by Torres' poor touch and attributing it to injury. Ahh no. He doesn't have a good first touch and it is the standout weakness in his game. Too often he's hindered by poor touch but either way he's still a ****ing ace player and won't be finished for quite some time.

Yep.

Don't always see eye to eye with you but this is spot on.

Draw wont be enough for Spain mate, Switzlerland will beat Honduras for sure.

Unfortunatly, Chile are going out IMO.

Switzerland winning is absolutely no certainty. They very well could draw, Spain draw and Spain go through. Can't see Spain not pulling out the three points though because Chile don't park the bus, they play football and that should play into Spain's advantage.

Spain Chile is the game I've been waiting for, should be an absolute cracker.

Gotta love Chile, not afraid to attack. Spain look a bit dodgy in defence at times, I don't rate the full backs too much, Ramos is OK at going forward, and the left back whos name i won't even bother trying to spells pretty mediocre. Pique and Puyol are pretty solid and should have a good understanding from times at Barca, but who knows with the quick players Chile have. I still think Spain will win it like 2-1. Swiss will have a few players out in Behrami and Senderos but should have more than enough quality to win over Honduras. Would love it if Spain and Chile got through
