Ok there is a trick to it I am sure. I will need to check it out. I think you need to watch the discussions as well?

That preference there is a big switch that turns on and off the alerts for things you’re watching.

You’re right - so that option should give you alerts. There will be some counter-intuitive option in there.

I've noticed another "Group" user has been able to have a Poll in the Forum section
