This is the most intelligent and knowledgeable thread I've seen since GJ called for JLo to retire 5 weeks after he'd already retired.

Methinks we should all be very grateful the OP has only made 13 posts in 2 years.

Disagree, we've been missing out on some genius, pure and simple. Hayden or Roberton as fullback, how has nobody thought of this before!? Inspirational IMO. I also reckon Pearce could succeed in that role too, he's really tough and stocky so I think he could replace Grover easily, he's also much faster and a better kick!

If Grover had been playing in the late 80's early 90's he would considered an elite fullback.

As it stands he plays now and is doing a fantastic job in a back line demolished by injuries. I'd hate to think where we'd be on the ladder without his input this year.

I think I'd prefer to see Walters playing full back personally, hes quicker than all of them.

Yea that's right. Hinkley has also found some of his pace too apparently - perhaps that's why Harvs has brought him into the team. Clinkers to full back, Grover as supersub

What sort of ridiculous thread is this ...

You're as bad as the op! Grover killed Milne. Cyril is a very, very good player and he beats his opponents most weeks.

I think the point was that Grover shouldn't be playing on Milne/Rioli/etc because he's also our 2nd best option on talls.

Hopefully Suban can fill the role but we need a back pocket who can be relied upon to do a job like Roger used to.

Bit late for April fools bro.

Cool story though.

You must agree Clay that our friend Deputy is an obvious troll. Any fair dinkum Freo supporter wouldn't waste time slagging off Grover when he could be sinking the boot into MJ.

Nah, a true Freo supporter would be digging the boot into the Admin for introducing a "blue" jumper and pissing on our heritage amirite?

Man you have no idea, you actually been watching him this year?

Time has caught up with Grover,he's way to slow and our backline is the worst for years .Time to just roll the dice and blood someone else. The turnover last week from Ballantyne and the resulting goal just showed how slow Grover has become.

The purple Muppet has been simply awesome this year - and you know what, I for one am really really glad for him that he has been able to get some great form back, he has always been one of the most vocal, consistent and hardworking guys in our team. In his earlier years he enjoyed a drink far too much, but has in the last 18 months really set himself on the straight and narrow. Could well do as much if not more for junior indigenous development as D Kickkett and C Lewis, which is really saying something...

Come on Groves, give us one more year of glorious bearded lumberjack defiance!!
