I'm sorry but 10 km under the limit is more dangerous than 10km over. Tell her to speed up!

Not on a suburban side street it isn't. Maybe you were one of the beepers? Do you by any chance wear a flat cap and drive a lowered poxy 18 year old Commodore with one panel a different colour from the others? All 3 beepers were those.

My oldest daughter just got her L's.
We were out driving today. She was about 10km/h under the limit, staying left and I think doing pretty well. I counted three tools who beeped her from behind in anger.

Why would you beep an L-Plater?
Ur Daughter was obviously doing the right thing staying on her left.
People are going to get fined for tailgating so they say.
I was driving close to a P plater the other day in a 50 zone, they were doing 40 and it was only one lane. Problem was the Windows were tinted and u could hardly see the P.
I backed of after that but my point is p plates and tinted windows don't work.
Some P platers have an outside P plate sticker and u could see it clearly.

Take it as a good chance to teach her that there are campaginers out there on the roads and the best thing to do is to ignore them.

Sorry, thought it was a freeway. Still more dangerous to drive slow anywhere if you're holding up traffic

I'm shocked to be standing here reading this.

Give her a break, mate. She's just got her L's and she is driving exactly how she should at this early stage. Arguably the worst thing any driver can do beeping at an L Plate driver.

If we want people to learn to drive safely and sensibly then let them learn in the most conducive conditions possible so that they grow confident behind the wheel. Driving a car is as much a skill as any that we all need to master if we are to be safe on our roads, arguably one of the most dangerous places for any of us to frequent.

I was lucky enough to grow up on a farm, driving tractors, long before I drove a car and that made it so much easier to master all of the multiple functions required in driving. Today very few do that and it is so much harder out on suburban roads to apply all of those function, at far greater speeds.

If I see a L Plate driver, I back off and give them time and space to deal with what might well be the first time they have ever sat in the drivers seat.

That's bullshit mate when you are talking about a L Plate driver in particular. Yes it is frustrating for those behind but the facts are that slower safer driving means we are all going to get to where we want to go if we show some patience. In this case, even worse your comments, when she was in the left lane, which implies there was another lane to overtake in..

Because people can be self absorbed twatfaces.

Wouldn't dream of tooting at a learner driver...the majority of kids out there drive a lot better than we did
I cringe when I think what we used to get up to !

anyway I now stick to the speed limit and couldn't give a fig if that doesn't suit some.
I then adjust my speed downwards according to how close people get to my bumper

Until they get the message Gaso ..!. cant stand pricks that drive 3 feet from my bumper. I'm driving at the speed limit anyway..so I'm not going to go faster

I had one in Kings Way in Melbourne in road works. Tail gated me for 4kms doing 5km hr. The road opens up and she gets into other lane, toots and gives the bird.

Nekminit her lane comes to a halt and she is locked in.

I continue on at 5 kmhr and come to the realisation that I am going to catch up to her.

Closer.

Closer....

Level and window down i yell out in my 1970"s inspired filth...'are you bloody happy now...suck shit'....lol...and do the Dermie prance. ..

get lots of them in NZ.. we're pretty laid back people here in Aoteoroa..until we get behind the wheel !

ps first day at work today..so Im grumpy and bored to tears .... so lots of internet time for me today !

Here's a thing.

I detest media fuelled faux social media outrage.

Especially when time makes hypocrites of the people outraged.

Today's bombing in Indonesia reminded me of a guy ranting how he was done with Bali with the executions, only to get cheap flights some months later and have 'a holiday to remember'.

It's R&B Friday and Passmore left his earphones at home :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Two options - change the station and superglue the tuner or drop the radio in a bucket of water in front of the whole office.

Geez we're listening to Ed Sheeran & Celine Dion here. Its like being stuck in a mall

Really regretting I'm too young for a hearing aid. On the other hand im glad I grew up when music wasn't so dam bland

I dunno why it is but for some reason or other, since Tuesday morning, I haven't felt in the least bit grumpy, even the old bit doesn't seem all that old now, I humm lots of happy tunes and even though the last day and a bit has been a bit cloudy and wet and dare I say it, cold, I feel as though every day is one of those beautiful blue sky, around 22/23 degree sunny days, gentle breeze, springtime days.

How can this be? :):D
