Go to the supermarket, bill totals exactly $69.
Cashier s******s, laughs and says, "best number aye?". I say yep, "dinner for two", he doesn't understand.
I guess that rules him out of being on BF.
Years back, I was in a crew who worked around the state and we were in a country pub somewhere up north (Gasometer country) getting counter tea. I got ticket #67. My workmate asked the lady at the servery if he could get #69 instead of 68. She asked him why he wanted that number, and why everybody laughs when the get it randomly. He explained "dinner for two" to her. She seemed to be a little bit taken aback by the concept.

Right now my wife is shopping and the kid is in bed still. I'm sitting on the back porch blasting 70s prog-rock tracks to entertain the street. The cat is loving it. So am I. Not grumpy.

The bubble will burst soon.View attachment 1303367
Is prog mostly a load of shite?

Yes.

Heat can GAGF.

I was reading an article about how cicadas and mozzies haven't been around much, which I suppose is a positive!

Wut

We are having the worst Mozzie season after all the rain in December

They pick up Cats and carry them away

We had 38.6 on Christmas Eve, followed by 42.8 on Christmas Day, then 43.5, 41, 40.7 and 38.6.

Today's 34 feels like a cool change.

I feel like the gods are smiting is for having Basil Zempilas as Lord Mayor.
It’s just been stifling
Haven’t been able to get stuff done outside as most days have been too hot

We had Christmas at our house so spent the couple of days leading up to it outside tidying up and getting the yard ready. It was brutal.

And then our aircon broke at 9.30 on Boxing Day morning....

We use one of our dams, kids love it
got a contractor coming in feb to deepen ours , too shallow, to warm, to much evaporation and algie atm. so not really where you want to wade into, but after it gets deepened will be putting a pontoon in. theres a smaller one in the horse paddock thats more suitable for the meantime,

i went out and greased the small tractorloader and backhoe yesterday early to do some drainage before it got hot, then one of the grease nipples in the worst spot (underneath outrigger pivot.) stuffed up, went to unscrew it, nut rounded, then head shore off with vicegrips then had to push the pin out and drill the remains of the nipple and replace, hour and a half later and it was already hot, so drainage deferred.

I heard that you can get nipple clamps online. Maybe you need to get some to be prepared for the next occasion.
