Thats the deal isnt it...party hard in your 20's and years later it bites you hard.

But then you look at Keith and Mick and wonder wtf....or how?

I went pretty nuts in my late teens and 20s, especially after my friend died. Partied pretty hard. Lived a pretty wild life. Surprised I'm still alive sometimes. Its a scary thought when you have kids late cos i don't want to kark it when they need me most. Who knows tho. Its a bit of a lottery and its so easy to die.

Keef is a zombie. He ODed when they were recording Exile on Mainstreet and no one (him included) ever noticed.

Second kid is due at the end of the first week of March. He or she won't quite be 3 weeks old when we flog Adelaide.* But pregnancies can go 2 weeks either way of the due date. My missus has got gestational diabetes so if the baby is still inside on the 6th or 7 th they'll induce it. (No I still don't know whether its a boy or girl. I'll find out when she or he pops out - Old Skool grumpy! ?)

Yep once a year i will have a flash back of some near miss that happened in my 20's and feel hot and sick.

One of my closest mates from high school died of cancer - he was only 22 years old. In the very early nineties. Within a couple of years the survival rate increased alot. Dumb luck, well lack of it. 22. That's more than half my life ago. I often wonder if I made/make the most of the years he never had... Glenn Frey died of other causes tho. Complications from pneumonia and arthritis apparently. I never knew arthritis was fatal.

Famous and semi famous musos from the 60s and 70s (and later ) will start dropping like flies tho from now on. About three of four people from early 70s bands died the day Frey did, he was just from a massive one. Bands with names i have barely or never heard of like (the drummer from) Mott the Hoople.

Anyway before it gets too morbid - my wife's pregnant with our second kid and due in less than 2 months so its all a big cycle or something. (Touch wood.)

What the **** is wrong with music these days?

I'm watching rage. There is one good song, and that might be because its good in comparison.

I swore I'd never whinge about "modern music"* but FFS. This era of mainstream music makes yacht rock look good.

Bland, repetitive, stupid and boring.

The other night there was a Bowie doco and Robert Fripp was on it. He said the difference between rock and roll and pop was that if you listened to rock and roll you might get f***ed. This generation of pop will get you f***ed tho. F***ed in the head!!!

Its got nearly as much intensity as Antiques Roadshow.

That was good.

Made about 20 seconds of each of 3 fast car covers. The word abomination springs to mind.

You could probably do a good house version of fast car if it had some heart and interesting music.

Pretty much any piece of popular music released today needs to centre around a dance drop. Even if it's a cover of a song that used to have some meaning. I don't vibe with it.
