Forced to sit on a cigar through a 15-minute train ride and a 20-minute walk to public toilets in a plaza because the station toilets were closed. I'm paying for it with pain for the rest of the day.
At least you're lucky enough to get a seat on your train.

Reminds me of a Birdman song.

Yes. Yes, they can.

Weird (and weirdly topical) that you should mention The Eastern Dark, too, given that the band's short-lived career was torn asunder by the lead singer dying in a car accident.

Anyhoo, just for further educational purposes, here's the killer b-side to one of the greatest singles ever released in this country.

(And yes, Rob Younger did produce some of their work.)
Awesome.

Two RB songs kind of summed up that attempted drive to Brissie on Saturday.

One was Hand of Law the other was Descent into Maelstrom.

I was thinking of the irony of getting trapped by floodwaters on the way to the gig just as it started playing while I was in the Murwillumbad SES office checking their rain radar. - one of the things that convinced me to go home.

I haven't contacted the venue yet but there is a chance it flooded anyway. Hope so. It'd be great if the gig was rescheduled.

There's some stuff you should just keep to yourself.

This is one of them.

****en rain.

We had tickets to see Radio Birdman in Brisbane tonight and couldn't find a way thru.

That's a lifetime dream I once thought I'd never see happen, then thought would actually happen, denied by the campaignering rain.
That sucks.

Cracking live band too.

Hopefully they'll be back your way.

Yeah i first heard that song in the 80 sometime, the first time I ever tuned to 102.7 on the fm dial iirc. First Birdman song I ever heard and it just blew me away.

That drive last night was wild. Thru the Tweed valley there were times when the river was less than a metre below the road and churning. I was in the passenger seat and less than 10 feet away was a river in full flood churning worse than Gaso's tummy.

Sometimes you get a sense when you're heading out on a mission. Things start to go a bit weird and then that atmosphere builds and you get the sense that this mission is doomed. I've had it a few times over the years and its pretty accurate. Massive sense of that last night as we headed off. Hadn't seen the sun all day but as we left the sky in the west turned blood red for a little while. And the eastern sky went very dark very quickly.

That's another great band btw - the Eastern Dark. Long gone now but you can still listen to them on youtube. Pretty sure Rob Younger produced some of their music. Including this:

That is pop punk perfection.

Blink 182 can EAD.
Oh The Eastern Dark - that's bringing back so many wonderful memories. I cried when I heard James had died. They were a band going places, saw them maybe a dozen times, they rocked with great pop hooks. Walking is my favourite Eastern Dark song.

A forecast high temp of 12C for a Saturday makes me grumpy.
BTW ferball, I'm loving your sig. It jumps out of your posts like the proverbial dog's balls.
Your comment reminded my of a joke by on Mock the Week a few years ago. The topic was "Things you wouldn't hear on a cooking show".

Hugh Dennis replied "these Korean meatballs really ARE the dogs bollocks".

There was a beauty from Frankie Boyle involving Nigella Lawson which I can't repeat for fear of thread-ban.

Oh well......here goes.

Frankie Boyle's joke for "things you wouldn't hear on a cooking show" was:

(In a breathy, sultry female voice, leaning forward pressing imaginary ***** together)

"Hi, I'm Nigella Lawson.........

One of things I like most about doing my cooking show is knowing that, at home....... Frankie Boyle has just about ripped his **** off".
