Good signing - though would have been happy had it been a couple of years longer also

Fair enough. Not really worried, though. I just see him backing himself to continue improving so that he can bank a bigger and longer cheque next time his contract negotiations roll around.

I'm not worried about him going elsewhere

Just seems we've got a few players signing 2-year deals, so means that in a couple of years we're going to see folks over analysing the list & those out of contract

And they'll be welcome to do so. Certainly won't make them any less wrong in the end, though.

For anyone still wondering whether Gryan will be a really vital inclusion for our forward line in this year's finals series, this will be three minutes well spent.
The kicking may not always look pretty and the ball off the boot may not always look textbook, but damn it's proven effective over the past 3 seasons

After his first year in the ones, I noticed he went to the left boot more often. He's been working on his one-sidedness :thumbsu:
There are going to be some limitations due to his size, but he's a player.

I thought that Gryan Miers played well against WCE.
He dropped a couple of easy marks but I put it down to him spending the ball before he had it.

He has built a nice six weeks or so of form.

Just a reminder that a player who habitually kicks like a sand wedge is premiership player.

Already out of a few best 23’s absolute madness he’s key to how we play along with BC.
Besides the field coverage, I think people underestimate his plain footy smarts. He might not physically intimidate anyone, but he'll know where to go when he needs go there. That makes him an important gear in the machine. Whoever edges him out, better have that sense.

Turned into a bit of a final quarter specialist with his running. Not fast but he covers a lot of ground, and when the opposition starts to get gassed he's always finding space. Good little player.

His running and link up is vital as seen plenty in the 22 Finals series.

I was critical about the low % options he would try at times but as he's gotten more experienced the frequency has abated and his ball use has ultimately improved.

His kicking style is what it is but his ability as a goal sneak and snapping without thinking is very consistent to what he showed in that under 18 GF that got him taken at 57 for us.

A very important cog in the 22 IMO

Go Catters
