Are you really missing out on anything? Gee, you'll lose a video sex game. If that's what pushes your buttons you probably should buy a hooker and be done with it. The only issue I'd have with censorship is if that affected the online compatability.
If you look at Dark Sector you will see that it isn't just sex that gets games censored, or banned.

Dark Sector was banned because it had gory finishing moves, I hope that all that has been taken out of GTA IV is sex, but knowing that this game is more gritty that the others, it could be some violence or something else.

Mmmm, now that I think about it I can't be stuffed getting it imported. I want to play it when it comes out. Who knows, maybe a patch could be released in the future or something unlocking the content if the game got re-rated or something.

The first non-R* to finish GTA said these things:

On spoilers...
* Generally though, it'd be a shame to ruin the surprises for anyone else; GTA IV single player simply has to be played on your lonesome to be fully appreciate it for what it is: a true milestone in videogames. Without giving away any spoilers; lots! I think, overall though, it'll be three overall things that entrance GTA fans like never before. [The city, Niko Bellic, and multiplayer.]

On play time...
* So we got the call from Rockstar to come up on the March 26 and play for three straight days in a row – including a Saturday! We'd usually kick off at 9 or 10ish in the morning, play until 8 or 9 at night, then go eat, then crash before getting up the next morning and do it all over again. Sat in front of a 60" LCD screen in a dark room for nigh on 30 hours – now that's hardcore! Every GTA fan's dream though, huh?

On total game time...
* I finished the story mode in 24 hours, without skipping cut scenes, but I literally blitzed through and hardly took on any side missions. If I was to play it again, I'd say to wrap up the story will take at least 40 hours at a normal pace, plus another – say, 25? – to wrap up the remainder of the missions.

On multiplayer...
* Rather than simply go with the whole Deathmatch and Capture the Flag stuff, they've genuinely taken their time creating some amazing new modes that'll do the business online. Mafiya (a chaotic, mission based affair), Cops 'n' Crooks (one team try to capture the other) and Hangman's Noose (players team up to take an army of AI SWAT troops) were our personal faves...

The best GTA game to date?
* GTA IV. By a country mile. It craps on all the others – even the mighty Vice City – from a height equivalent to the Statue of Happiness. Believe me, GTA IV is even better than the hype suggests! It's certainly tighter, both in terms of the way Liberty city is structured and the way in which the narrative feels more movie-like than before. Otherwise, everything feels as if it's been given the next-gen treatment; in particular the driving and shooting are light years ahead of past GTAs. Overall, it's a stratospheric leap forward, beyond anything I'd imagined.

I want it even more now.

should i buy this from the UK for 360??

Are there any complications in doing so?? Would live etc... be ok

I had an official from the OFLC in my store yesterday and i was talking to him about GTA. He said that our version was only a slightly watered down version of the game.

TBH, im not that fussed by missing out on some things that we would get in an R18+ game, it still will blow our minds.

You can get it from http://www.gpstore.co.nz (including the Special Edition, until tomorrow) uncensored and for around the same price you'll be paying in stores.
NZ games would work on our xbox, yes? I guess we are the same region. May look into it.

A reason for GTA IV buyers to get the PS3.

GTA IV PS3 BUNDLE COMING FOR AUSTRALIA
Retail sources have confirmed to us today that, on May 1st, Australians will be able to purchase a new PS3 bundle, featuring a 40GB PS3 console and a copy of Rockstar's GTA IV (you may have heard of it).

The RRP will be AU$749, which offers a small savings if you were to buy the AU$699 40GB PS3 and game separately.

Isn't the 40 gig version shite and not backwards compatible with PS2 games?
Don't know what you mean by shite, but it doesn't have BC, but the thing is your getting GTA IV, the true next-gen version and a game that will be at least 10 times better than anything on the PS2, and possibly PS3, 360 and Wii.

And once again, why would you buy a PS3 to play PS2 games?

Because quite a few people sold their PS2 and most games for a 360. Just would be nice to play the PS2 games without buying two consoles.
Then don't buy two consoles, simple, buy a PS2 to play PS2 games, buy a PS3 to play PS3 games.

That is a moot point. Sony preached backwards compatibility with the PS2, and now they take it out for the PS3. It is stupid when people have a PS2 game or two in the cupboard and wouldn't mind playing Resistance and GT5.

If it's important to them they can get one of the models that has full backwards compatiblity.

I'm sure many people that bought the 360 thought it would be a handy feature to buy a console that didn't constantly fail and scratch game discs - but Microsoft, for whatever reason, seemed to ignore this request.

Sony did "Preach" it, but I wouldn't really don't count it for Australia, pretty much everywhere but Aus there are consoles with BC, we get shit from everywhere, remember GTA IV was going to be uncensored, we were told this by Rockstar, then a month or so later we get told that it is edited, and of all the SKU's out currently in the World, 75% are BC.

Well, in Australia all the launch PS3's had full BC (something the 360 doesn't have) and you can still get them imported or second hand. So as far as BC goes, the PS3 definitely trumps the 360.
