Yeh im getting a bit over GTA IV aswell. I was all hyped up for it but then it got delayed but i was still kind of excited but now i dont really care. Though i still think it will be great.

I only have a PC so I'm not very excited. There is still a slim chance that it will be released on PC but they can't say anything because its console only release will be used to increase console sales.

I'd say a very big chance it will be released on PC - in '09, or maybe '10. Every other GTA has been on PC, no reason why this wont be/
 
An article released today said the GTA IV DLC on XBOX 360 will only be 2 extra missions, most likely all other DLC will come to both consoles.

It was also revealed the reason for the delay was the PS3 with the creators saying it just takes longer to develop on the PS3.

The extra DLC for both consoles will possibly come in the form of new cars, extra weapons and other new missions.

This may be the first DLC actually worth paying for. :/

It is also confirmed that aside from the two extra 'episodes' that you can download to the 360, the PS3/360 versions will be identical.
 
Supposed to be a fair bit of extra gameplay in those extra episodes (its not just 2 "missions")

Minimum 10 hours of extra gameplay has been announced... definitely be worth buying:thumbsu:
 
GTA is my brothers favorite games hes done 100% on all of them kind of a nerd really he knows the from back to front

Exactly. Anyone who owns both a 360 and a PS3 would be nuts not to pick up the 360 version.

Mind you, Rockstar's NEXT big sandbox title is PS3 exclusive, so if this release is influencing people which console to buy, and they're big GTA fans, then the PS3 might be more attractive over the long term.

Be interesting if you could find a source for that statement.

Thats been shown to be incorrect in a few other threads on here. A few pro sony web blogs mis interpreted a rockstar press release about their next, non gta, sandbox game that will be ps3 exclusive.

The amount of money in GTA almost guarantees its a dual console release.

KP was right. GTA is staying on both consoles, and a secret unnamed sandbox game is exclusive to the PS3.

Frankly I am not into all this fanboyism, it's very boring and very old.

So I will just wait and see.

There may be 10 hours of extra missions but will they be that useful or will they be the boring, tedious ones that you just skip to focus on the main game (ala the RC missions in San Andreas).

I wonder if the PC version will get these extra missions if it ever gets a version which I think it will.
 
The DLC is described as being an "Episode pack". That generally means a continuation of the main game story.

Its not like they'll be released for free or anything, so if they suck no ones going to buy them. I'm pretty confident they'll be nice and tasty

I doubt it would be anything to develop or change the story though, otherwise it is severely ripping off PS3 customers.

I would think maybe something more like the easy missions from the other games, would be disapointing if it was something that developed the story yet PS3 users need to wait ages to get it.

I had originally thought that the 360 downloadable content was used to make up for the smaller disk capacity compared to the PS3s.

And $50mil won't seem like alot when they have sold about that on both consoles.

This is the most anticipated game of all time after all.

No, the content will be a timed exclusive.

Both GTA games will be the exact same when brought out on disc, the 360 will get DLC which will later come to the PS3, then the other DLC's that come will be for both consoles.

Its not really ripping them off, they still get the game, and eventually the episodic content, just 360 owners get it first.

Everything said so far in the gaming press says it'll be a continuation of the story. But i wouldn't worry about the ps3 story cutting off abruptly before the end or anything. There will most likely be a climax, and the DLC will most likely deal with some other issue that arises.

Guess we'll find out for sure when its released, but yeah, if you owned both consoles i know what version i'd be buying

Has Rockstar or anyone else given a timeframe for how long 360 owners will have to wait for DLC? And if so how much longer on top of that it will remain exclusive before going to the PS3?
