Some info for the GTA IV inclusion into Playstation HOME:
The latest issue PSW magazine has confirmed two exciting things:

1 - GTA IV will be updated to include Home support

2 - the PS3 achievement system will give users more than just points... earning in-game trophies will give users items to decorate the Home space with and customise their avatar.

Sony has previously mentioned they wanted a 'deeper' system than a simple 'score' but we've only just had confirmation of how far this will integrate into Home itself. My interest in Home just multiplied faster than a rabbit on viagra. I can't wait to fill my apartment with gaming JOY. It's also great to know that thirdparties are supporting the "home spaces" feature of the service

Also in the same PSW Magazine it is stated that the PS3 will get it's own exclusive content, although not as big as the 360's.
 
I just got a question my birthday is on may 8 and im looking to get gta4 as a present if i dont pre order the game what are my chances of getting it by my birthday or do i pretty much have to pre order it if i want it by then because stores may all be out of stock?

do you own PS3 or 360? I reckon there'll be copies available on PS3, but I'm not 100% confident.

Special Edition is sold out where I am, but there are normal copies available.

All looks very nice. I can't wait for a PC release (they will eventually). The graphics are decent but GTA has always been about the world detail and beauty than the amount of pixels they can shove in.

I would preorder just in case, it could very well be sold out on May 8th and I wouldn't risk it if you really want it.
 
It seems the game is 100% done. Zoo Magazine said it was good, and the admin of gtagaming.com got a copy. With they would release it already :(
 
Looking to pre-order this game, where is the cheapest i can get it for? Just the game by itself, not special edition or anything like that.

I haven't got quotes from anywhere but the RRP will be $119.95 for both consoles, I preordered mine at JB Hi Fi on the hope that it will be cheaper, but who knows?
 
Is anyone bothering with the collector's edition? The only thing I normally like in such bundles is the behind the scenes stuff and that's normally not much these days. It gets posted on YouTube anyway.

Thank god for region free discs. This just swayed me from getting it on 360 to getting on PS3 (that and the fact it's been announced the PS3 is getting it's own exclusive content as well).
 
Oh well. Probably just sex cutscenes or something. Gtagaming thinks it will just be sex related content anyway, which I dont care if it goes. If the gameplay is affected then I will order from Asia though.
They probably took out prostitutes again, which doesn't bother me. Never used them in my burnt copy of GTA3 anyway.

Still i'll be canceling my pre-order & getting the US version now. Thanks rockstar for getting people's hopes up by submitting an unfinished version to various video game sites & then re-submitting the final version just recently which because we don't have a R rating was deemed to be too violent or whatever for an MA rating. :thumbsd:
 
Play-asia.com only seems to have US 360 versions, anyone know where you can import the UK one from?

It will cost just under $80 to get it from the UK Amazon, not including postage. That seems to be the go, I guess.
 
Does anyone know if the online play will be region locked yet?

All those friggen churchies not wanting us to have R rated content, I will still get GTA IV here but I will probably import later on just to see what I missed.

Don't blame Rockstar, hell, they're the only ones that really push the envelope with this stuff anyway.

Blame our government for ignoring the fact the average Aussie gamer is 28, and acting as if 15 year olds are the oldest group of gamers deserving of a classification.

Import your copy, take the money out of the Australian games industry until this gets rectified.

A Rockstar spokesperson provided the following response to the question of whether GTA IV has been censored "No GTA has been censored since Vice City. (Grand Theft Auto) IV has been rated in its entirety, the rating is on the OFLC website"

That was on the 6th of February.

Also the thing with importing the copy means that a)You won't be able to get it on the day of the release, which in Australia is one day before pretty much the rest of the world and b)You won't be able to get the Special Edition everywhere, which has some cool stuff.
 
Previous censorship in GTA games hasn't really amounted to much, the changes are probably minor. Can't say i didn't see it coming

Our games classification system certainly sucks tho, no doubt.
 
Are you really missing out on anything? Gee, you'll lose a video sex game. If that's what pushes your buttons you probably should buy a hooker and be done with it. The only issue I'd have with censorship is if that affected the online compatability.
 
I think you're missing the point.

It's quite simple, adults in Australia that play video games should be treated the same as adults who watch movies or listen to music. There's an R rating for every other entertainment or artistic medium, why not video games?

People that own it on 360 will now miss out on the game in the way the developers intended it to be - they'll be getting a dumbed down version, and they'll be paying $110 for it.

Thankfully for us dual console owners, the US PS3 version can be imported for about $60 and won't be censored.
