its china not war torn Syria.... the players a super fit profesionl atheletes ive done 3 contenents in 5 days once and survived it without any ill effects and im far from the fitness and healthy specimiens the players are ....
China is a smart economical move and also a great opportunity for our young team to bond together on a trip heading into the back end of the season ....
Its also better than a bloody away game in Adelaide again ffs. We were probably not going to get a home game at the dome so this works perfectly fine plus we get tons of cash for it

That is a ridiculous statement. It's one match, it'll have little effect on field.

Particularly when instead of playing Port Adelaide on the Adelaide oval , which we would have done.

Means we will get 11 home games one at MCG in exchange for doing this , several million $
helps as well which is guaranteed from AFL ...no brainer.

Noticed how we addressing our weaknesses on and off the field. Adding experience such as Ratten, Lade, Slater, Gubby, Batchelor, that statistic guy and now Gubby also Bassett. And Hanners and Kent with picks 36 and 46 along with 4. Draft night could be the cherry on top.

Good signs
Don't forget that software. Will be the difference ;)

Should be entertaining then Hai_Newman
I'll take the Gobby and move on...Oh wait...

Saints are doing a lot right.

Off the back of a crappy season and a reasonably underwhelming trade period they’ve still been able to generate a bit of excitement and optimism.

Think Gubby will be great for our club.

Raise a glass for the Saints folk that don’t actually have to kick the ball. (EDIT: I don’t mean Billy Longer here).

Hopefully it translates onto the field.

Got a really experienced off-field team for the first time in a very long time... great acquisition
I can't remember the last time that we had some much credentialed AFL experience off field.

From the outside....it looks a "star studded" line up.....full marks to Lethers….he's added the type of personnel that we could have only dreamed of 4-5 months ago.

Grubby was one of the PE teachers back in my day at Elwood High School
And a hippie teacher known as Wilfred.. lol

Gubby Allen is another great pick up..
We've put together a new off field team within the Coaching & List management areas, with proven success in their chosen profession..
If we somehow manage to extract picks 5 & 10 for picks 4 & 36, we'd all be giving a Grading of an A in the off season to the St.KFC..
So much crap has been scribed by lazy Journos in the post Trade/FA period..
We gave up zip for Hannebery & Kent, & that's the bottom line & kept the most "wanted draft pick" in many years..

Happy with this. I see elsewhere that some aren't, but it's good to see us with some smarts behind the scenes. Think he is probably closer to a few of these Player Managers, and that can't hurt. Plus he's a bit of a campaigner. Knows where a few bodies are buried I bet. Could be handy.

And I agree with an earlier post that he knows what good inside a club looks like. He will have a view, and hopefully steer things in a good direction.

LOL tell that to Gold Coast.
Gold Coast are way more a rabble than us.
China had absolutely nothing to do with them being s**t. That Club couldn't handle traveling to Phillip Island let alone China.
And they are so propped up by the AFL financially that they didn't need the $2million so they just opted out.
