Team Captain
At this stage Matthew Egan, Jarrod Garth, Brad Ottens and Tim Sheringham are yet to have their guernseys allocated. Which number suits which player?
#6 - Worn honourably by John Barnes, less so by David Spriggs... will be remembered as the number Rex Hunt wore at Geelong.
#19 - Made available through a succession of retirements (David Loats, Mitchell White). Could be a jinxed number, although Neville Bruns (despite broken jaw), and to a lesser extent, Derek Hall, might have something to say about that!
#37 - Vacated by departing rookie James Allan. Made famous by Sean Simpson. Worn briefly by club legend Ron Hovey.
#43 - Worn by James Byrne in Geelong's VFL side but the number has crossed paths with the talent of Damien Bourke and Paul Lynch.
#47 - Club greats like Darren Morgan and Marty Christensen have worn it on their way to lower numbers.
#5 - I don't think any of these players deserve this number... yet!
