Prediction Guess the Round 1 side

As has been well-discussed by Swans fans far and wide, it seems like competition for spots this year is as fierce as ever, and thus our best 23 for round 1 harder to predict than ever.

So it seems fitting to run a little contest for ye Swans folk to submit your predictions for what you think the best 23 for round 1 will be. The winner will be whoever gets the 23 closest to that announced on team selection night ahead of round 1, with the prize being the greatest of them all... bragging rights.

So if you want to have a head so big you can't fit it into your computer monitor, post your predicted best 23s in this thread and see how you go!

RULES:

• This is PREDICTED line-ups. So it's not about who you want or don't want in the best 23, but who you think will be named.
• It's best 23, so that is the starting 18, the interchange of 4, and 1 sub.
• No judging, analysing or discussing each other's predicted line-ups. This is purely a fun little contest and any post that's not purely a predicted best 23 will be moved to the regular pre-season thread.
• No elaborating on your predicted line-ups. As above, save any of your opinions on the best 23 for the regular pre-season thread.

Thread will be locked ahead of team selection night ahead of round 1, so get your line-ups in before then.

Well, with Parker and Adams out since my initial attempt, Jordon and Sheldrick come from outside the 23 into the team. Both of them just beat out Roberts for a spot. Melican just over Hamling. Gulden to play more of an inside mid role with the injuries to others.

Also the chance they go with only one true key defender in McCartin against the Demons, whose potential forward line isn't monstrous. If so, even though Fox has been playing forward and Roberts been playing in defence during pre-season, I'd go with Fox in for Melican as he is able to play against medium and tallish forwards along with Rampe and Blakey. Roberts would come in to Fox's sub position and Melican out of the 23.

Based on the line-ups played for parts of pre-season games, think there's a fair chance the selection committee go with this smaller/one true key defender team option, at least against the Dees and teams with similarly smaller forward lines. This is my preferred team of the two options, bit more pacey and athletic. Team would be ...

My team is picked with the knowledge we are playing Melbourne who will run with a smallish forward line. I expect Hayward to miss because of his adjusted program. I think Horse usually picks Will ahead of mostly everyone but won’t for Rd 1.
