West Coast supporters should keep an eye on David Wirrpunda in tomorrow's encounter.

If Wirrpunda pulls on his ear, touches his nose or holds up a thumb when preparing to kick the ball, expect a long torpedo punt to fly from his boot

"I can't tell you what it is but keep an eye out, you might see it," Wirrpunda said yesterday."

I have this image of Wirrpunda spending about 10 minutes doing a variety of bizarre signals, ala Mr Burns when he's coaching the power plant softball team.

he'd plan to chip it short, get an itch, and see everyone taking off past the centre square.

Secret sign?

Would it be something liking the scratching of the nether regions that most men do??
My guess is that the sign is something like:

him being in the goal square with the ball in his hand.

Clever eh? :D

actually nah, that sounds pretty lame.

but if it works, i guess i cant judge it. i wonder if the next step would be to 'kick' the ball once he holds the ball in his hands

He did torp it early on in the game.

I think Ozz is right. If he's torping it he'll spin the ball in his hand in a spiral motion before he kicks it, whereas if he's kicking a drop-punt he'll spin the ball in his hand backwards in a drop-punt motion.
