My tip is that he will surface on Sunday in an attempt to make the news about him rather than the Libs campaign launch. He will do it as his price will have been met.

Obviously you don't give a flying #$%^ about his current health crisis and Therese's call on what he does and when he does it eh?

Some of you Libs really struggle to use an operating brain cell.

Gall bladder removal is routine surgery performed via key hole. "health crisis" it is not.

Nah mate my wife is a theatre nurse so I know the recovery times and whats involved. As already noted, routine procedure, little risk and short recovery time.

Try using your brain for once.

Apparently Gillard didn't even give Rudd a quick call to enquire about his 'health crisis'.

On a positive for Labor it will be seen as somewhat unifying and end the "I wonder what Rudd will say next?" line. On a negative it will take away from Gillard's message tomorrow, whatever it may be. Remains to be seen what impact it will have. Labor people are suggesting if he does some campaigning in Queensland it will be positive for them.

What political capital does Rudd have? Remember he was such a problem he had to be taken out. People might not like and/or trust Gillard but they hate Rudd.

Latham was right about him he just love attention and wants to be the big man on campus.

Isnt it sad that the libs best shot is the comings and goings of Kevin Rudd.

You'd be thinking thered be som liberal 'vision' appearing now.

Brandis last night "I dont want to be talking about Rudd all the time but....."

Did he actually talk about anything else ? The turned on albanese for daring to talk policy

As Tony Jones noted: just in time to overshadow the announcement of a potential 'fast rail link' from Brisbane to Melbourne.

Tony himself didnt really want to discuss much else or discuss others discussing about rudd

The **** is back, on sky now and guess what as predicted he will hit the campaign trail on Sunday.

Had forgotten how much I hate this bloke.

Rudds support of Gillard just about kills off the Abbott threat to this country.

History will say, we dodged a bullet in 2010.

ha ha Rudd was thrown out because he stank up the polls, nothing has changed. He was so bad the ALP nifed him, now he is the saviour!!!

I think not.

Abbotts played up the disunity of the labor party. That disunity has been disolved.

He has to go back to fear-mongering about boat people.

Rudd stinks, its why he was removed. He will alienate people more.

And lo Kevin has arrived to save Julia and us all:

There is no 'i' in team, but there is certainly an 'i' in Kevin if this afternoon's extraordinary performance is anything to go by.

After declaring last night he did not want to be a distraction, Kevin Rudd moved straight to occupying centre stage.
Kevin Michael Rudd is of course no-one's "distraction."
Kevin Rudd only plays A-grade. To underscore that point, we have a 3pm press conference in Brisbane in order to declare there is nothing at all to see here.
...
I am Helping Prime Minister Gillard.

I am Not Derailing Labor's (clearly hopelessly, pathetically, ineffective) campaign against Tony Abbott.

If you missed it, essentially maestro's message was this.

The campaign is bloody hopeless.

Not their fault, it just lacks a critical element.

Me.

Kevin.
