Wrestling is 50% real, 50% fake, The fake part is the predetermined results of matches and also the storyline which is scripted. The real part is the bumps that the wrestlers take, the ring isnt exactly as soft as a mattress you know. The storylines have to be scripted and that is what makes wrestling the popular thing it is today, storylines like - Who hit Austin with the car ?, the kurt angle,triple h ,stephanie love triangle, the new world order etc etc. There are new twists and turns in the storyline each week so its a bit like a soap opera except alot more interesting, nothing is as good as a swerve when one wrestler turns on another unexpectedly. However the king of the death matches and similar events are the most brutal matches and the wrestlers do actually get thrown on to thumb takcs , get zapped by electricity and get burnt, just read mick foleys book and you will see the graphic images, those who say it is ALL fake just look at the wwf wrestler who was paralysed during a match, and the injuries that occur all the time keeping wrestlings great crowd pullers and superstars out unfortunately, like bookerT, Bret Hart etc etc. So before you go mouthing off saying its ALL fake then how about you do some research first as you are merely commenting on something you know ZILCH about !!!!!!!!!!!! AND IT KEEPS RATING HIGHLY AND WILL ALWAYS DO SO, SO NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY IT WILL ALWAYS BE HERE,HAHA, TO USE WRESTLER JEFF JARRETS SAYING- "CHOKE ON THAT SLAPNUTS" AND I WOULD ALSO LOVE TO WRAP JEFF JARRETS GUITAR AROUND SOME OF YOUR HEADS !

just been watching some of it lately on tv.. and, was hoping if you 'wrasslin' fans could enlighten me on the following points:

1. what happened to hacksaw jim duggan? i didnt like him before, when he was the all-american guy with the 4x2.. but, why has he turned Canadian?? what was the story there?? heheh..

2. who are the current WWF and WCW individual champions, and tag-team champions? are there more categories these days? and, is there still a wwf continental champion??

why are the 'wrasslers' weights so exaggerated?? i remember hulk hogan was listed at 320lbs... are u kidding me?? a guy the size of shaq o'neal is only 303lbs ! andre the giant at 500lbs+ ! haha...

Yeah some wrestling appears to be real. I certainly won't debate that some injuries and fatalities have occurred, especially in some of the lesser known organisations. But you know, circus performers get killed and injured occasionally too. A lot of wrestling injuries come about as a result of mistimed choreography and because the wrestlers are competing and practicing constantly. That level of athleticism takes quite a toll on the body. These guys are in essence, stunt men. The bumps they take often miss though some are very convincing and look decidedly real. How many people do you know that can take numerous close-fisted blows to the face and not bruise and bleed??? Happens every single match. How about stomping? The guy doing the stomping virtually jumps and lands with the non-stomping leg on the ground just that split second sooner than the stomping leg. It is called weight distribution. The pile driver is done so that the wrestlers knees hit the canvas just a few centimetres before his opponents head does. It cushions the blow. Otherwise everyone that receives one would have a broken neck. It does go wrong though, Stone Cold has time off to recover from a real injury. Just as stunts go wrong and acrobats take a tumble, it is inevitable.

I admire the skills in wrestling. Some of it is awesome and some of it has to hurt but don't tell us that all the bumps are genuine. If I was standing on the turnbuckle and somebody grabbed my trunks to perform a suplex off the top rope, I sure as hell wouldn't shift my weight and jump at the right time just so he could execute it. I would hold on to the bastard so he fell first and I landed on him.
