Cort are nice sounding guitars, not to good on the looks side of things in opinion, Maton and Ibanez would be moremy type of guitar. I like hollowbody guitars that is why i am getting an Ibanez Artcore, If i had enough money i would get a Gretsch but they are around the 4000-5000 dollar mark.

I Agree, would love to play piano.

You could be Matt Bellamy and play guitar better then most, then play some seriously kick arse piano:thumbsu:

:thumbsu: :D

Anyone have some advice for a starting guitarist? I got an acoustic for Christmas and have been teaching myself from the DVD that came with it, but I've pretty much gone as far as I can. One really annoying thing is that it constantly seems to buzz when I play, but it turns out that it's only happening when I play it...very annoying. So any good tips or websites would be appreciated!

Are Cort pretty sh it, or really sh it? I just thought they were like Squire - sort of cheap immitation of Fender etc but better than most other strat copy type brands?

Yep, and nup. They pretty much use the same materials as the folks who license them to manufacture (timbers etc). But as Mark73 posted, change of pickups is where its at-and getting an experienced Luthier to do the setup would also be helpful. My local music shop guy says that he dropped a set of EMG's (actives) into a Cort for a customer and he was really surprised by the results. I don't think Cort have the Ibanez license anymore, but they may be doing the PRS line. Extremely tasty brand, that one.

Is this the most boring thread on BF ever?????
Think I might start a drummer's thread. That'd be MUCH more interesting....

Here is a pic of my Ibanez.

I bought it from a mate about 13 years ago for $100. He'd had it for at least ten years so I'd say it's maybe 25 years old. He was/is a Black Sabbath freak and is responsible for the masking tape upsidedown cross.

It's old, it's beat up, the tone pots don't work, the pickups are corroded, but the neck is straight, the action is great and when you crank it and lean into a selection of Neil Young's greatest hits, it makes a sound that'd make your grandmother puke.

And isn't that the whole idea??

I used to have a similar ibanez but slightly different shape.

ps I'm surprised that plastic wall didn't fall over when you leant the guitar on it. Who built your house? The people who built the set for Prisoner?

Yeah, it looks pretty ordinary, but I can assure you it is real brick. they just sprayed it with something shiny... probably cancerous...I just have to stop licking it.
