Round eleven was our bye and the point where our season 34 season turned to mush. This event won't though, get yourself comfortable as we announce the next two awards.

Next up, we have the Ninty2Winty award for our best forward of season 34. Honourable mentions to Dory_77 who kicked 22.20 from 15 games in the forward pocket and Catsnlakers who was excellent off the half-forward flank. However, we can't go past the fella who finally lived out a dream- to win the Fred Medal as the competition's leading goal scorer for season 34. With 55 goals in the 12 home and away matches, Baz is rightfully the Ninty2Winty for season 34. Barrybran will now be carried onto the stage.

Now the award for the most important players on any qooty field- the defenders. Named after Gumbies and league legend peterss, the peterss trophy recognises excellence in the defensive field. In season 34, two sophomores vied for this award. Yours truly came close but leaked too many big scores to opposition full forwards- damn you bonz and gab213! Moving to the backline early in the season from their customary forward position, ossie_21 proved a natural. Congratulations for being the best in the most important part of the field.

Just before we start the final round, it's time to announce the award for the best clubman- the StFly medal. Named after StFly who is one of our two premiership captains and 300 gamers.

It is a great honour to award this to GWS Goose who showed strong leadership both in public and in private. Goose's passion for the wellbeing of this club is undisputed and is equally capable of (metaphorically) wrapping an arm around someone in support or going into battle for the club. This is Goose's third such honour in four seasons, a show of his quality.

Well then! Baz needs the five votes to tie with DenieD for the win, can he do it...?

The five votes shall be revealed shortly for which of the following reasons:
a) so DenieD can hastily work up a speech;
b) So Barrybran and DenieD can collect their thoughts;
c) So Falconista can drag this out and raise the drama/tension in a style similar to philreich's match commentary posting;
d) To give enough time for Baz to send bribes my way. Hint: caramel slice and gozleme are two of the nicest foods..;
e) All of the above.

FIVE VOTES.... Falconista. * THAT GUY!!

And with that, I declare the winner of the Season 34 Catman Medal for the Gumbies Best and Fairest player as DenieD.

Finally, some belated acknowledgements, hopefully I haven't missed any.

Congratulations to:
Dory_77 on 50 career matches;
GWS Goose on 100 career matches;
beez on 100 matches for the Gumbies;
Barrybran on 150 career matches and winning the Fred Medal.

Well done for the following who were our all-SFA nominations:
Brick Loosener, Falconista, DenieD, Catsnlakers (all unsuccessful) and Barrybran (successful)

Thanks to:
Catsnlakers who has decided to continue their career at the Eyrie.

The Catman Medal will return. The Season 35 ceremony will be held during our Round 12 bye.

Hit the town everyone and be sure to charge it all to this guy:
