Hello team, this is the season thirty five Catman Medal presentation evening. Please have some fun along the way as we hand out some awards and Gumbies, don't be afraid to contribute or point out any booboo I make (which is probable on recent form).

Tonight we award the following:

krisholio Rising Star (best rookie)
Ninty2Winty (best forward)
peterss Trophy (best defender)
StFly Medal (best clubman)
Catman Medal (best and fairest)

The voting system has been amended for the Catman this season. Each round, there are five votes up for grabs on SIM/playing performance (5-4-3-2-1) with the three highest dreamteam performers guaranteed a vote and two 'captain's choice' picks. In addition there are votes for match thread participation- one vote for 1-4 posts, two votes for 5-14 posts and three votes for 15+ posts. Both the sim and posting votes are tallied with the player with the highest total of votes the winner.

So, does DenieD go back to back?
Can Dory_77 cap off a wonderful season of goalscoring with a Catman?
Do beez, CatToTheFuture or myself take home Catman #1?
Do Barrybran or GWS Goose win another individual award?
Is there a slightly unexpected winner?

So, four rounds in and checking the leader board, yours truly and Dory_77 have got off to the fast start combining sim and positing votes for a nice early lead.

Time to announce the first award for this evening. Season 35 saw two rookies added to the club- Tigerlaird (then AJMLaird) and Aucklander. Both joined after initial squad submissions but in time for our first game ,for which we as the club (and me personally) are very greatful. Both rookies started the season on the half forward line before finding their way to the most important part of the field- defence. where both showed themselves to be natural qootballers.

It was hard to split both players to know who to give the award to. By virtue of slightly more match and team thread posting....

Congratulations Aucklander, season 35 krisholio Rising Star!!!

We pleasingly returned to winning form with a win over the Bears. In what was already a huge week in bone2468's life, he reached 100 games for the Gumbies and kicked a crucial goal in the tight victory.

Round seven was better in nearly every way. We seem to enjoy good match threads with the Furies and we took out the victory to claw back some of the percentage lost a week earlier.
